l would loan this book from your library not buy

I wouldn't purchase this book. Have a loan from your library!

Patricia Cornwell is without doubt an obsessive compulsive about weapon and cyber details and persists in demonstrating her knowledge through her books. Her famous Scarpetta Series began to fall victim of her obsessiveness too. The last books of this series where the same idea was to compressed time so that all maddness took place in 24 hours or so. It becomes irritating to read a whole book like this.

l congratulate January LaVoy for her excellent reading of this work as she deserves it 100%.

However in the case of Spin it is a positive bore with obsessive detail, far fetched storyline, collapsing time detracts from the story. On refection l still cannot actually tell you what the hell the book is about.

A disappointing outing from Cromwell.

Part two doesn’t get any better

This is such a disappointing series from a renowned author. I struggled through the first book hoping the second would find its rhythm but I still can’t get into it, the characters feel disjointed and it always feels like I am missing a backstory or reasoning as to why they are acting or thinking like they are. Couldn’t even make it past the first quarter of this book before I gave up and decided not to waste my time.
And don’t get me started on “Sisto” even the talented reader couldn’t make it sound like a natural nickname.

Great story

Loved this book, very different obviously from the usual crime series of Cornwell but fascinating!
Can't understand objections to the technological references, just the quirkiness of the character portrayed and her obvious nerdiness! Thought it better than the first in the series actually, seemed to tie everything together better.
waiting for the next in the series to get to grips with the Captain's adversary.

Fact show off

I was an avid PC reader 20 years ago and loved her writing. When I saw a recent PC novel on Audible I thought I would return. The author seems to be now totally absorbed with showing how much she knows about equipment and technical facts. To the point it became so annoying I stopped reading at Chapter 17. I was screaming “Nooooo!” every time she entered into a extensive description about some piece of equipment or protocol. Over it! Never again.
