About this listen

Our words have the power to create profound healing or incredible suffering. Yet even with the best intentions, it is often difficult to express ourselves in ways that build harmony and trust. Speaking Peace presents a seminal four-part model you can use immediately to connect to the spirit of love and generosity within you and start contributing to the well-being of everyone you relate to.

For over 40 years, visionary author Marshall Rosenberg has used the process of nonviolent communication to help families, schools, businesses, and governments reach accord in seemingly impossible conflicts. Join this pioneering voice to learn:

  • How to use your natural empathy to defuse stressful situations and safely confront anger, fear, and other emotions
  • Proven skills for overcoming dehumanizing communication patterns that block compassion
  • How to see through the eyes of others to foster understanding
  • And more

Marshall Rosenberg teaches that when you convey what is alive in you, your true feelings, and the values and desires behind them, you establish honest, nurturing relationships that eventually fulfill everyone's needs. With Speaking Peace, learn how to align your speech with your heart's purest depths.

This man is brilliant (though he won’t appreciate you telling him so). If only his training was taught in every school!

Brilliant

I enjoyed this. It was a good overview of a four step process in just a couple of hours. I’ve gone on to download the longer book.

Really helpful

I listened to the whole book after an upsetting interaction and had heard about NVC years prior. It gave me such valuable insight and has immediately shifted a few perceptions. I came away not feeling consoled but rather with much work to myself in other relationships! Everyone should know this technique.

Everyone should be taught NVC

This was really helpful in my high school teaching experience. Thankyou for giving me direction on how to come from a place of non violence and to see what’s alive in my students and support it and respect it. I listened to the book again when I had forgotten about it and am now going to explore Joanna Macy’s despair work. Looking forward to teaching effectively using the spirit and tools of non violent communication

I really admire Marshall Rosenberg's writings and the life force of peace that informed his life work. However, the songs are so bad. I feel violence coming upon me! I can't tame the dragon or express my needs. Why would such a great author choose to include such disconnection?

Great title
