In an alternate America, JFK survived—and didn’t just win the Space Race. He never stopped.

Now it’s 1972, and JFK’s ever-expanding space empire is ripping holes in space-time itself—erasing people, places, and entire histories from existence.

The only ones who might be able to stop him? Nancy Kranick (Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne), a former moon nurse lying low in Hoboken, New Jersey… and Richard Nixon, tangled in a conspiracy so bizarre it stretches from the Moon to a Shakey’s Pizza to a parallel-universe Watergate.

As JFK tightens his grip on an Empire of the Stars, Nancy and Nixon must reunite and track down the fragments of a mysterious, reality-warping metal—hidden across space, time, and alternate dimensions—before history is rewritten for good.

From Emmy-winning writer Bill Oakley (The Simpsons, Futurama, Portlandia), Space: 1972 is a bigger, stranger, and more gloriously off-the rails sequel to the hit Audible Original Space: 1969.

This was a good as the first one. Enjoyable and entertaining. I'd keep listening but I'd also enjoy watching if this was animated.

This audiobook presents a fascinating alternative reality in which President Kennedy survives the assassination attempt, setting history on a completely different and highly imaginative path. It is the second in the series with book 1 being called 'Space 1969'.

The voice actors deserve particular praise. Each performer captures the distinctive voice and mannerisms of the famous person they portray, making the characters feel remarkably authentic. Kudos to the entire cast for an outstanding performance.

The storyline is wonderfully unconventional and so compelling that I found it difficult to stop listening. I normally listen to audiobooks in bed to help me relax before going to sleep, but this one had the opposite effect—I kept wanting to hear just one more chapter.

Original, entertaining and thoroughly addictive. Well done Mr. Oakley.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

One of the most way-out books and it's great.

Funny & smart. I was surprised it was free. It’s nice to have something to listen to between books. I enjoyed it. I did not know it was a sequel so I will listen to the first book too!

Harmless Space Fun

Consistently hilarious and rewarding for anyone who, like me, learned most of what they about US history from sketch comedy and animated sitcoms.
Truly uncanny impressions of the real life figures and the fourth-wall breaking narrator was also a welcome touch of weirdness.
I’d love to hear more but am also very satisfied with the alternative history as we leave it.
Here’s hoping Oakley and crew collaborate with Audible again… in the future!

A 20th century romp

Great idea for a story, but I couldn't progress past the first 30 minutes. Obviously a lot of time and effort has been put into the recording, but the constant switching of characters and narrative irritated me. Other might like it.
