Publisher's Summary

A poignant and heartwarming novel about friendship, ghosting, and searching for answers to life’s mysteries.

When Mackenzie, Sunna, and Maude move into a converted rental house, they are strangers with only one thing in common - important people in their lives have “ghosted” them. Mackenzie’s sister, Sunna’s best friend, and Maude’s fiancé - all gone with no explanation.

So when a mangled, near-indecipherable letter arrives in their shared mailbox - hinting at long-awaited answers - each tenant assumes it’s for her. The mismatched trio decides to stake out the coffee shop named in the letter - the only clue they have - and in the process, a bizarre kinship forms. But the more they learn about each other, the more questions (and suspicions) they begin to have. All the while, creepy sounds and strange happenings around the property suggest that the ghosts from their pasts might not be all that’s haunting them....

Will any of the housemates find the closure they are looking for? Or are some doors meant to remain closed?

Quirky, humorous, and utterly original, Sorry I Missed You is the perfect listen for anyone who has ever felt haunted by their past (or by anything else).

Sorry I Missed You is so quirky and original, full of humor, wit, and warmth. I loved how three such different women forged a genuine friendship - and of course, that mystery. A real page-turner.” (Josie Silver, New York Times best-selling author of One Day in December)

“A quirky, original story about unexpected friendship and the power of hope, Sorry I Missed You is a gem of a book.” (Phaedra Patrick, internationally best-selling author of The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper and The Library of Lost and Found)

Enjoyable story

I enjoyed this story very much. It had some turns I wasn't expecting and held my interest. The premise is a bit contrived, but if you can let that go, it works well. The idea of people "ghosting" one another is explored in many ways. I was not very fond of two of the main characters and I was concerned I would not like their stories, but I did. I would have liked a little more information about all of them, but their stories were complete.I recommend this book, it was a lot of fun.

Slow start, great ending

It started a bit slow for me and at first I didn’t like some of the characters, but by the halfway point I was hooked. The author did a great job keeping things secret, that helped build suspense. The narrator is really good, I think she brought each character to life perfectly.

Easy listen

The story is about 3 women who live in the same house in different apartments and their relationship and how their intertwined. It wasn't the best book that I listen to this summer, but it was a great 1 to finish the summer with. The narrator's portrail of Maude is so bad that it's absolutely perfect. If you listen to the story, you'll understand what I mean.

Doesn't end up where you expect.

It took a bit for me to get into it buy I was soon hooked and couldn't stopped reading (I consider listening to books reading). The way the story was developing was interesting and I couldn't figure out where it was going. Definitely reading more by this author.

Unexpectedly engaging

I got this for free through Amazon as a “listen”, I don’t know, Prime? Kindle Prime, something Kindle Library? Really enjoyed the stories of these 3 ladies and the surrounding characters. Everyone was a bit interesting and put into a unique situation. Narration was top notch. Fun listen

Clever little gem

What a clever and lighthearted book. The ending is kooky beyond belief, but in this instance, I didn’t mind it so much. I was completely invested in the lives of Mackenzie, Sunna, and Maude and how they are thrown together with an element of supernatural woo-woo; “ghost”. A play on the word but sharply executed and the rabbit trail I was taken on as the reader was well worth the time and effort. Needed something light and not too fluffy and this one was a surprise hit. Would read another book by the author as her talent in storytelling seems pretty solid.

Cute Book!

This was a cute, light story and overall enjoyable to listen to. I always love Amanda Ronconi's performances and she lives up to that with this one as well.

Ghosting

Three unlikely women of varying ages and stages in their lives go to rent rooms in a property that has a reputation of being haunted. All three women have one thing in common, they have all been ghosted. One day a hand delivered note appears asking about a meeting at a cafe and it says ‘sorry I missed you’ as the note is sodden and is barely legible they each feel it could mean closure and it could apply to each of them. So they all decide to go to the cafe daily at the specified time and wait it out. It all seems like a wasted task as no one appears yet each one of them feels compelled to carry on the ritual daily. Lots of misunderstandings, comedic and bittersweet moments happen and as they get to know one another they form an unlikely bond.
