About this listen

New York Times bestselling authors Andrews & Wilson bring listeners another heart-stopping thriller in Sons of Valor IV: False Flag.

A murder in the Royal House of Saud, a secret alliance between two powerful rivals, and a race to upend the balance of power in the Middle East....

Lieutenant Keith “Chunk” Redman is no stranger to uncertainty. It’s what they train for in the Tier One. But when President Kelso Jarvis tells Gold Squadron the shocking news—that the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has been murdered, the King is missing, and the House of Saud has framed two Mossad agents—it’s clear the Middle East has become a powder keg just waiting to explode.

To get to the bottom of it, Gold Squadron must split up: Chunk leading a team of Israeli operatives; sniper Saw taking the helm of Gold; while intel analyst Whitney Watts heads into the belly of the beast itself, the Royal Palace in Saudi Arabia, where she must risk her life to uncover the truth about the Crown Prince’s murder.

Meanwhile, unseen by any of them, new alliances are forming orchestrated by a VEVAK operative who spent decades working in deep cover to unsettle the balance of power. Soon it’s a race against time to find the truth, and stop a false flag operation that threatens the very existence of Israel itself.

The story built slowly across three areas. Just when I thought it was a little too slow it all sped up and the story unfolded with a lot of excitement. Ray Porter is a great narrator and captures your imagination with great descriptions of the people and scenes.
Another winner from Andrew’s and Wilson, but I will say that given so many of these books are now centred around Middle East bad actors that it’s getting a little tiring and repetitive that the bad guys seem always from Syria, Iran and/or Saudi Arabia.

Sons of Valor IV continues to impress as a standout entry in a consistently gripping series. As a dedicated fan of both the author and the e-book format, I’ve followed every installment, and this latest release is no exception to the high standard set by its predecessors.

The author’s talent for character development truly shines—each member of the team is brought to life with depth and authenticity, making you feel as though you’re right alongside them on every mission. The narrative structure is particularly compelling, weaving together multiple timelines and plot threads that converge seamlessly, heightening suspense and keeping the reader invested in every twist and turn. Just when you think your favorite character might not make it out, the story masterfully pulls through, delivering both relief and excitement.

The action is relentless, the stakes are higher than ever, and the emotional connections between characters add a new layer of intensity to the plot. The realism and urgency in the storytelling reflect current global tensions, making the experience all the more immersive.

Ray Porter’s narration is, once again, outstanding—his performance adds depth and energy to the story, making the audiobook a truly engaging experience.

I sincerely hope there will be a Sons of Valor V, as there are still storylines that deserve further exploration. Congratulations to both the author and narrator for another brilliant addition to the series.

Something about the heart of this book was off. I've read everything they have ever read and really enjoyed their character writing. I feel their characters motivations/interactions and attention to detail suffered quite alot in this installment. I wonder if the writers were so zoned in on producing competent propaganda for Israel given everything going on in the world, that they forgot a work of fiction is not about pushing a political adgenda. I hope to see it improve next book

Avid reader of Andrew and Wilson but something was off this time
