Publisher's Summary

Roger Reaves grew up a poor farm boy in Georgia and went from making 'moonshine' to becoming one of the most prolific smugglers of the 20th century. He covered six continents, transporting 20 ton ship loads of hash, tons of cocaine, and completed more than 100 sorties across the US border with plane loads of marijuana. His friends and associates spanned the globe - from Medellin Cartel kingpins Jorge Ochoa and Pablo Escobar, to "Mr. Nice" Howard Marks and the infamous Barry Seal who was Roger's close friend and employee. He escaped from prison on five separate occasions; was shot down in both Mexico and Colombia; and tortured almost to death in a Mexican prison. Despite it all, Roger still has a twinkle in his eye as he recounts his life story. And you have probably never heard of him...till now.

Dull

Dishonest author, simpleton literature, painfully slow. Do yourself a favour and find another book, I suggest marching powder.

Amazing, but sad.

He made enough in the early days to retire. Unfortunately, he mismanaged his money and had to keep going. This cost him 30 years in prison.

Great story full of adventure! Reminded me of sitting on my grandads floor listening, mouth open, and holding my breath for the next part.

I’ve been waiting for this Audiobook!

I’ve listened to interviews on YouTube of Roger Reeves many times and I’m so blessed to have the audible version of this book! Awesome stories! The connection to the missionary group in the movie “End of the Spear” and Roger’s desire to learn to fly to be a part of that group and then they helped him out when he found them by chance after crashing flying contraband was God calling Roger I believe. I hope Martin Scorsese and Jordan Belford (Wolf of Wall Street) make a movie about Roger’s life story. It would be better than the stories (that took place at the same timeline) in Blow (George Young) or American Made (Barry Seal)

Amazing Life Story Told By a Natural Narrator

This is a personal account of someone on the wrong end of the absurd war on drugs. It highlights that the idea of good and bad is nuanced

The stories of adventure are riveting and the author has a natural talent for a good yarn.

I couldn't stop listening; an ideal book for audio format.

It’s like listening

It’s like listening to my grandfather tell old stories. I’m only a hour in and I’m thoroughly enjoying it
