About this listen

The new audiobook from number one best-selling author Jodi Picoult, with the biggest of themes: birth, death, and responsibility.

When a newborn baby dies after a routine hospital procedure, there is no doubt about who will be held responsible: the nurse who had been banned from looking after him by his father. What the nurse, her lawyer and the father of the child cannot know is how this death will irrevocably change all of their lives, in ways both expected and not.

Small Great Things is about prejudice and power; it is about that which divides and unites us. It is about opening your eyes.

A well crafted novel that gives a glimpse of what it's like to truly be a minority in every day life... It's not enough to say 'I'm not racist! ' we need to relearn how to 'act and be' in order to use that placard.

An exceptional book of hard truths

As a black nurse I found this book so enlightening! Ms Picoult totally gets the difficulties faced by us all when racism raises its ugly head... when it's not challenged... and the fall-out of when it is! The characters were all realistic - I was totally sucked in! I love this author... read it! It's challenging, realistic and strangely optimistic. Thanks to the author for picking such difficult and uncomfortable subject matter to write about with such aplomb.

Riveting!
