About this listen

This is a collection of my short science fiction and fantasy stories written from 2015 to 2021.

I like writing short stories. It's good practice. I write a lot of them. Most are not worth publishing but are still worth doing.

The ones that found their way into the world also ended up here, mainly because the listeners that like my writing wanted copies for their collections.

Several have been released stand-alone in Kindle or audio editions or anthologies, but never together in a single collection.

In addition, you will also find a new, never-before-published short story titled: "The Two Daves". This story, like many others in this audiobook, are bonus stories involving beloved characters in my novels. My wife says they are like bonus features on DVDs. She's not wrong (at least I am not the one to tell her that!). The cutting room floor has been harvested more than once.

The stories from the cutting room floor sometimes seem to have abrupt endings or atypical plot structures. Just like the deleted scenes on a DVD, special features collection. Still fun, and they increase the fidelity of characters in my novels.

Some of the stories are not associated with any other work. These will often be seeds that will grow into novels as time and longevity allow. I have tried to arrange them by topic, by world, or just by theme.

I hope you enjoy them.
