Story
A compilation of funny, irreverently reverent stories on aligning with the Divine in daily life. For the passionately spiritual and bemusedly skeptical alike. Adapted from a popular column originally published as "San Francisco's Spiritual Examiner" at examiner.com. "What if God IS the story? What if the Divine is constantly igniting roadside flares to get our attention? What if there actually IS a Supreme Organizing Principle with a ribald and unbridled sense of humor? And what if we each have this ardent inner suitor who's writing us love letters every day that often go unopened?"

Story
The gap between what it's really like to be a woman and what people expect women to be is a primary cause of burnout, because we exhaust ourselves trying to close the space between the two. How can you 'love your body' when everything around you tells you you're inadequate? How do you 'lean in' at work when you're already giving 110 percent and aren't recognized for it? How can you live happily and healthily in a world that is constantly telling you you're too fat, too needy, too noisy and too selfish?

Story
World-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck, in decades of research on achievement and success, has discovered a truly groundbreaking idea - the power of our mindset. Dweck explains why it's not just our abilities and talent that bring us success - but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset. She makes clear why praising intelligence and ability doesn't foster self-esteem and lead to accomplishment but may actually jeopardise success.

Working women today are better educated and more well-qualified than ever before. Yet men still predominate in the corporate world. In The Confidence Code, Claire Shipman and Katty Kay argue that the key reason is confidence.
Combining cutting-edge research in genetics, gender, behavior, and cognition - with examples from their own lives and those of other successful women in politics, media, and business - Kay and Shipman go beyond admonishing women to "lean in".

Publisher's Summary
Simple, Soulful, Sacred is a guidebook for the modern woman who seeks clarity and guidance on how to live the life of her dreams, on her own terms. It's for the women of our time - the mothers, teachers, healers, light workers, dreamers, creators, leaders - who are ready to find their voice, speak their truth and own their power, whilst living life with less hustle and more flow.
For modern women wanting more for their lives, it's the now age definition of having it all. Women are rising; ready to step out of the cloak of masculine traits that keep them striving for a version of success that is not their own. Ready to stop hiding their light and playing the comparison game. And ready to fully embody their feminine power. Because whilst the feminine may have been disowned and devalued for centuries, we are so done with that story now.
But it's still a paradox. Because within this very rising, women are longing to step out of the noise and chaos, to live more simply. They want time and space for what's most important to them; and the comfort, consciousness and connection that often gets lost in the busyness and distractions of daily life.
This book is the bridge women have been seeking. Written with the time-poor reader in mind, this book includes 200 short-form chapters, the perfect length for dipping into while commuting; during a lunch break or at the end of the day. The perfect gift, or self-gift, for women of all ages.

Not sure if I will finish this book
I think the narrator was painful, Sometimes its ok to pay professionals to do the job. I cant move passed 5 minutes every time i try to listen.. Its a shame because the book itself seems to be quite good. I think its a book that is better read than heard.

Feeling free
I always knew that there was something more to me than what I have been living. I struggle every day to find my voice my strength just to find me. Listening to this book understanding the words the courage that I have inside me I now am convinced that I can do anything as a woman that I want and there's nothing left to hold me back I must do the work and discover my true self and why I am here. This book is an absolute read or listen the words that she speaks woke up my soul and got my mind working on me my today my tomorrow my forever my happiness. So thank you to the author somehow you knew what was in my mind. Together as women we can change this world better for ourselves our family, our children, grandchildren, but most of for all women.
