From a dazzlingly talented young writer, a haunting and original supernatural romance in the vein of TWILIGHT.

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human... until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

First I’ll say NOT FOR KIDS! I selected this as an adult expecting an adult book so I enjoyed it but when it said from “audible kids” at the start and finish I was shocked. There’s graphic mentions of abuse first and foremost that I wouldn’t want my kids to read about but were necessary for the character development. There’s mention of a sec scene but not graphic that a 15+ kid could read. It’s mainly the abuse and the mental toll it took on the character that makes me say this isn’t a kids book.

I loved how Sam’s POV chapters are always just as long as they need to be! Sometimes short and just enough to show you a little slice of an opposing force of the moment you were just seeing through Grace’s perspective and will again in just seconds. However they were sometimes longer and gave a real feel for who Sam is and how much he loves and cares for Grace.

This was a roller coaster book and I never knew if I was gonna get a happy or sad ending but I was on the edge of my seat ready to find out which you don’t until the very last second. I was crying for about the last half hour which is exactly what the author, Maggie, wanted so I guess she wrote the perfect story for her goal haha. I loved this book so much, 5 stars all around, and I usually don’t leave written reviews just stars so you know this book hit if I left this essay!

Made me cry but wouldn’t recommend for kids
