About this listen
As an event planner, Gillian Romano’s an expert at rolling with the punches and solving unexpected problems. But her flight getting hijacked while returning from a job is definitely out of her skill set. Passengers are being murdered, and when she’s chosen by the terrorists to be their mouthpiece, even more innocent lives rest on Gillian’s shoulders. Only the calm, reassuring voice on the other end of the line keeps her sane, forging a bond with a stranger she’s never seen but trusts with her life.
Walker "Trigger" Nelson and his Delta Force team have spent years training for close-quarter hostage rescue. When they get called to South America to attempt to save an airplane full of hostages, he doesn’t expect to meet a woman who rocks his world in the middle of the op. Gillian’s cool head and bravery in the face of certain terror - and possible death - blows him away. Any outcome that doesn’t include Gillian leaving that plane alive and well is not an option.
After their safe return to Texas, both Trigger and Gillian are excited to find out if their instant chemistry can survive the real world. Neither realizing that someone isn’t happy with the outcome of the hijacking, and is watching, waiting, for a second chance to strike.
Shielding Gillian is the first book in the Delta Team Two series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

A brilliant storyline that kept me engrossed.
Thank you Susan Stoker

but this is 20% action etc and 80% romance.!!
it was very slow and I struggled with the simplicity of an alpha dating a mixture of a woman...smart but naive????? I'm a sassy kinda heroine listener.
I loved her 1st delta team series, mountain mercenaries series along with her Texas ranger series, she brings out what the average person presumes to be a problem in an individual and turns it into a strength that pulls the pace and plot together nicely.
this book however, lacks the punch I normally get from Ms Stoker in the middle and might I say, the end....the opening was awesome.
if you don't mind slowing down your story pace and enjoy a rolling into romance slowly but surely then away you go.
I do think that the alpha males respect thing was a bit overstretched but Ms Stoker made this steam scene one if the best I've read....😉😉

It was the same thing over and over and over, same conversations, same things happening, the most irrelevant details that could have been detailed in 1 minute lasted for an hour. I went into the chapters to see how far along i was and i wasn’t even half way and the entire story was practically over. Please, save yourself from going nuts and skip right past this book and onto the next one.
for goodness sake this story just dragged on and on and on and on
