THE UNMISSABLE NEW THRILLER FROM THE INTERNATIONALLY BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE GIRL IN THE ICE AND NINE ELMS ROBERT BRYNDZA

When Kate Marshall finds the body of a young man floating in the Shadow Sands reservoir, the authorities label it a tragic accident.

But the details don't add up: why was he there in the middle of the night? If he was such a strong swimmer, how did he drown? As Kate and her assistant Tristan Harper follow the evidence, they make a far darker discovery....

This is only the latest victim in a series of bloody murders dating back decades. A mythic serial killer is said to hide in the rolling fog, abducting his victims like a phantom. And when another woman is taken, Kate and Tristan have a matter of days to save her from meeting the same fate.

Disappointing

A bit unrealistic - the characters proved a bit over the top. And there were problems with the timelines too.

Great story

A few red herrings and twists and turns. Figured who by around chapter 45 and diving air requirements at 40mt inaccurate - only air required, not oxygen, and no mixes required. Decompression is required; ivedived to 65mt on air no mixes. Looking forward to the next book.

Great story bad narrator

Really enjoyed this even if I guessed the killer 2 thirds through the book. It still captured my attention. Terrible narrating though. Really bad by slow..enunciation...of...each....word. Drove me mad and I’ll avoid any book performed by this narrator now.

Scary but entertaining

I got over the violent scary bits judging by this book there are heaps of killers out there wanting to kill and rape women. I’m glad these are only books. I would never be as brave as some of these woman are.

excellent

un-put-downable. As with book 1, I had to listen to this at every chance I got. Since I did have to eat and sleep it was a 2 day read.
Bring on book 3!

Decent enough trashy thriller

Not well written, but decent enough for a Bryndza book. There are a number of “...he said “...” she said” I counted 5 in a row.

dissapointed

I love this author and was so looking forward to this new book. Sadly the narration for me was dire. No personality at all what dragged the book down. Maybe I would have thought better of the story had there been even a tiny bit of umph in the narration. I hope the next offering from this talented author will be availabe with a new reader 🤞

My thoughts

The story was a bit bitty, it was an OK listen. Some chapters made me keep listening and listening. I kept this going as I wanted to know what happens to magdalena in the end... Narrator was fine overall during the listen.
