About this listen

The odd couple of detection, the brilliant but cranky Arthur Bryant and John May of London's Peculiar Crimes Unit, return in a tense, atmospheric new thriller that keeps you guessing right to the end. This time the detectives are up against a series of bizarre murders that defy human understanding, and a killer no human hand may be able to stop. A mysterious stranger in outlandish Edwardian garb defaces a painting in the National Gallery. Then a guest at the exclusive Savoy Hotel is fatally bitten by what appears to be a marshland snake. An outbreak of increasingly bizarre crimes has hit London, and, fittingly, come to the attention of the Peculiar Crimes Unit.©2005 Christopher Fowler, Defiant Films (P)2006 W. F. Howes Ltd. Critic Reviews

"A twisty thriller, full of action and plot surprises." ( Publishers Weekly)

These two most unusual detectives of Scotland Yards Peculiar Crimes unit pulled through yet again!
The plot is peculiar and unusual, of course, but reliably interesting. I liked too, the two little side stories ( I'm neither a reviewer nor critic, this is how I think of the stories within the main story) .
I can't say I find these books riveting and exciting, but enjoyable they most certainly are, and I always learn a little more of Londons' history.
Another reason to listen is the narration of Tim Goodman, my benchmark for excellence in narration is Aimee Bruneau, she, of course, is 100%. Tim Goodman is 98%.

Another enjoyable Bryant and May
