Seven minutes isn’t enough for a life. But it’s long enough to remember how much I’m loved.
Eli-I thought the worst part of losing my husband would be the slow drift apart, the way hospital shifts swallowed our nights, and silence replaced laughter. I never imagined the worst part would be dying in his ER, the flatline screaming while his hands were the last to touch me.
But death isn’t empty. Not at first. In those final seven minutes, my life plays back like a reel, and every frame belongs to him. Our first kiss. Our first night tangled together. The vows we spoke when we promised forever. Even the mornings when we forgot to kiss goodbye.
It’s all him. Always him.
I don’t know if this is the end or a cruel mercy, but I do know one thing—somewhere inside these seven minutes is a choice, a chance, or a goodbye. And if love alone could bring me back, I’d open my eyes to him every time.
©2026 Raquel Riley (P)2026 Raquel RileyThis book was beautifully written, poignant, devastating, hopeful, and profoundly moving. It is one of those rare stories that completely immerses you in the lives of its characters until their joys, fears, losses, and hopes feel as though they become your own.
Eli and Adrian captured my heart from the very beginning. The emotional depth of their journey is extraordinary. The exploration of trauma and its far-reaching effects was handled with such sensitivity and authenticity that I found myself completely invested in every moment of their story. The significance of those seven minutes reverberates through every part of the book, shaping both men’s lives in ways that are heartbreaking and unforgettable.
What I loved most was the incredible emotional detail. The grief, uncertainty, longing, guilt, love, and eventual path toward healing were portrayed with such depth and honesty that I often felt emotionally overwhelmed—in the very best way. The introspection of both characters allowed me to understand not only what they were experiencing but why, making every triumph and setback feel deeply personal.
At its core, this is a story about soul-deep love, resilience, forgiveness, and finding your way back to the person who has always held your heart. Eli and Adrian’s love for one another felt real, profound, and utterly unforgettable.
When I finished, I was left wrecked, reeling, and strangely bereft because I wasn’t ready to leave their world. Very few books have affected me this deeply or stayed with me long after the final chapter.
And then there is the narration. Nick J. Russo delivers an absolutely flawless performance. His narration brought every emotion to life and added another layer of depth to an already exceptional story. I cannot imagine a better voice for Eli and Adrian’s journey.
This wasn’t simply a book I enjoyed—it was an experience I felt with my whole heart.
Perfection! An unforgettable emotional masterpiece
