Publisher's Summary

From the national best-selling and award-winning ReShonda Tate Billingsley comes this gripping and emotional exploration of the complex bond between mother and daughter.

From the time Brooke Green was seven years old, she has lived with the pain of losing her mother. Her father has done the best job he could in raising her, but a piece of her always felt empty. On the day of her father's funeral, her grandmother breaks the shocking news: Her mother, Sarah, is very much alive. She abandoned her family because she claimed she wasn't fit for motherhood.

After doing some research, Brooke discovers her mother is living in Atlanta, enjoying a great career...and a brand-new family. Stunned, Brooke doesn't know if she wants answers or revenge against the mother who abandoned her. When she meets Sarah's husband, Tony, Brooke sees the perfect way to make her mother pay. But her plan for revenge just may leave everyone in danger and end up costing Brooke more than she ever bargained for.

What's done in this he dark Always come to light!

Revenge is a double bladed sword, it cuts both ways. This story is rich in examples of what Momma and them would tell you as a child about jealousy, hatred and selfishness. One feeds off another and leads to unintentionally consequences.
Sarah put the ball in motion marrying a man she did not love and ending up with a child she was not mature or ready to love.
Jacob kicks the ball farther with a lie.
Falling in love and attempting to hold onto a person who is not in love with you and want's a different life. Lead to a run away wife and mother. Telling Brooke her mother is dead and faking a memorial service is well over the top.
Broke learns of her father's lie after he apologizes on his deathbed. Her grandmother is forced into doing the deed and now Brooke is obsessed with finding her mother.
These actions sweep far and wide of the origin. The fall out and consequences are far more than anyone expected. Has Brooke found her mother or lost her way!

Seeking Counseling

Brooke was deeply scared by the loss of her mother. I was unable to connect with this book, I just wanted Brooke to realize how for she had come without her mother. I think an appointment with a counselor would have prevented this train wreck she caused.

If you could sum up Seeking Sarah in three words, what would they be?

Full of suspense

She was good, held my attention

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Is it really her mother she wants?

this was an interesting book, I just couldn't get over a grown woman acting like a little girl. But maybe that was the point.

Good book, though the story felt a bit rushed. The narrator did a GREAT job.
