Behind every little secret....

Mary Hamilton has had enough of being passed over by all of the eligible men in London, though she's had years and years of practice, and she's ready to give it up. But before she hangs up her dancing shoes for good, she wants one season of everything she's never had - invitations, flirtation, and suitors. But will all of that actually give her what she's always secretly wanted?

There's another secret waiting....

Geoffrey Harris is more than happy to spend his time being permanent escort to Mary during her final season in London. After all, she's been his best friend for years, and what better way to send her off than in grand style? But when her plan actually starts to work, he isn't so sure he wants any part of it, leaving him to wonder what it is he does want. Or who.

Sweet and clean

I enjoy friends to lovers stories and this is a nice, clean one. She's not quite a blue stocking who gets a makeover and almost lies herself. However, her handsome best friend and sister inevitably keep her grounded and we get a HEA that's just right.

BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Once again, the author did not disappoint. I loved the banter, humor, impatience, rage, heartache, turmoil, devition of friendship, and love that ran through this entire book. The narrator did a phenomenal job at remembering the tone and rhythm she assigned characters from books past. Beautiful story.

about 3 hours too long

Not the best nor the worst; the performance was ok. A few too many characters to really develop the story.

Corny

This book is so corny. The hero and the heron are best friends and their little banter back and forth is extremely corny.

Good, but not my favorite...

Good, but not my favorite so far of this series. The heroine acts completely out of character in the middle of the story. During that portion of the book it was all I could do to listen, to get to the “good” part, because she grated on my nerves! Other than that it ended well and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

Soooo Booooooring

I would get bored and realize that chapters had passed. It never got to the central action. Stopped with 4 hours to go and it still hadn’t gotten to any appreciable point.

Love the hero and heroine

I wanted to finish this. I really did. The characters were so likable and the story line was interesting, but the etiquette and pure ness of the English people was too much for me. I couldn’t go further than chapter 17.... not even a kiss or tension filled moment had been exhibited. I might delve into some of the other books in the series, because so many characters were likable, but there were a lot of characters too and not much suspense.

Perfection!

I absolutely loved Geoffrey and his teasing sense of humor. Ms. Boyd's narration totally did it justice. Her voice is very even, soothing and portrays the characters emotions perfectly. She even did a great job with Duncan's Scottish accent, which is hard to do.

Read this if you like Georgette Heyer!

Another good book in the Arrangements series. I enjoy revisiting all the "military boys" (Nathan, Collin, Kit, Duncan, Jeffrey, etc.) and their various partners.

Jessica Elisa Boyd is a very good narrator most of the time. She does good male voices and can make them distinguishable from one another. I wish she would make the female ones more distinguishable. Most of the men's female partners have the same exact voice and accent, so it's sometimes hard to know who is speaking. Yet for other female characters (servants, elderly aunts, etc.) there is differentiation. Oh well, I still quite admire Boyd's work and skill, and would happily listen to anything else narrated by her.
