Very abridged, but wonderfully read
I bought this version behause it was narrated by Helena Bonham Carter and I truly enjoyed listening to her reading of it. Only too late did I discover that the book was abridged, and very drastically so. The main points of the story are all there, but not much more. This is the reason for the low story score. So much of the magic is gone, of Colin's development into a normal boy, of the transformation of the garden. It was a good reminder of the original book, but not nearly enough.

Great narration and a classic story
What did you love best about Secret Garden?
The innocence in the children's relationships, and the garden's beauty and it's magics.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character has always been Dickon.
Any additional comments?
I love everything about this audio-book except when I ordered it, I didn't pay much attention and didn't realize it was the abridged version! I love this narrator, but I have yet to find her narrating the unabridged version yet. If I do find her, her version would definitely be the one I buy.
