Needs polishing

Good bones for a story but feels unpolished. Falls pray to plot armor which gives the feeling of a group of kids around ten playing make believe. Characters all seem naive and far to innocent for the backgrounds they have. Would love to see the author revamp this story, give the characters more depth, and sort out what they are wanting to do with the power/dungeon system.

Overall as it is currently, this a book for younger audiences, while having very mild adult jokes.

Disappointing overall

The story started good, but I found myself incredibly bored by the end. Narrator was ok. Not great. Just ok. The character and voice of Toby was seriously annoying the most painful parts to listen to.

Terrible

The story is dumbed down so much is seems aimed at children yet this story has themes not suitable for children. Multiple unneeded descriptions of simple concepts & the same thoughts & feelings repeated endlessly. At the pace of the story it will take 10 books to make any progress towards the overarching goal.
