Publisher's Summary

Marty Neumeier, author of The Brand Gap and other business best-sellers, has written an audiobook that leaps right into your pounding heart.

One rainy night in December, young CEO David Stone is inexplicably called back to the office. The company’s chairman tells him that the board members have reached the end of their patience. If David can’t produce a viable turnaround plan in five weeks, he’s out of a job.

The problem is, he’s already used every trick in the book and nothing has worked. His only hope is to try something new. But what? The powerful tools at the center of the story are the five Qs of strategy and the five Ps of design thinking. These make up the basic principles of agile strategy - a faster, more collaborative approach to building a brand.

Whether you’re a CEO, strategist, marketer, manager, designer, writer, researcher, or consultant, you’ll find familiar challenges and recognizable faces here. You’ll also discover the ability to see business in a new light - not as a static set of requirements, but as a living entity that responds to passion, purpose, and creative collaboration. Scramble is that rare audiobook that everyone on your team will eagerly listen to, discuss, and put into action.

A different way of retaining business principles.

Marty did such a good job incorporating his learnings and tools in a memorable way.
I've been reading other business and leadership books and had little 'A-HA' moments where you see certain principles played out.
Loved this book and will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

Gobsmacked

As an ex teacher I am stunned at the creative way Marty was able to teach the concepts and skills using a narrative. At every stage I found myself substituting the characters, problems and solutions for my own, applying it to my needs. I will recommend this book to entrepreneurs for years to come.

Great until introducing politics

This book was great but bringing politics into the experience was a mistake. It’s obvious to me that the author leans to the left and that’s sad considering half of your audience leans to the right. Congrats on ruining the overall experience.

Too much politics

The politics almost outshines the story. And Socrates wasn’t concentrated enough on in the story for the main character, David, to give him the credit he did. What did Socrates actually provide? Not much, really, in the big scheme of the whole story.

Wow! That was fantastic

They say that stories are the way to hook someone. It definitely hooked me from the first chapter! To learn a process, something complex like agile, in an example with thought through characters and backgrounds was hands down the most refreshing and entertaining way to be educated. Bravo! Recommend. 10/10.

Introduction to Agile Strategy in a easy way

If You are looking for something a bit entertaining and easier to listen, this might be for You. I like fictional business books where the scene and context are setup properly and the feelings and thoughts from the decision makers point of view are also presented. This book did not make an exception. The end was a bit lame, but it did not really make a big difference.

Two thumbs down

He is not a novelist who tried to tell a fiction story integrating politics. I am really mad of wasting time and money on it.
I am not saying that he is not experienced. Great professional background, wrong story format. He should focus on sharing best practices for today’s business environment.

Fantastic concept. Marty packs ideas, concepts and structures into a narrative that is engaging and captivating. I already love his previous books, and this just added another element of enjoyment. When’s the next one?

Visual Story Telling at it's Finest!

It was clear from the start that this would be an advanced version of the principles from the previous book "Zag", but the storytelling is what makes this book a classic for me. Felt like I had watched this when the reality was that I had only listened. Great Book!

Top business book

Great case study of an agile branding strategy in a thrilling business novel form. Extremely well executed. Listened to it in one day, I will definitely repeat some more theory based chapters later. I recommend it for anyone but especially for people whom struggle to put theory into practice.

Best book I have read about Business Strategy!

This is truly a new way of learning about Business in general.

Practical information that can be easily grasped and applied, you just have to listen carefully, take notes, and execute every single step from this book.

Enjoyed it but wouldn’t listen twice

I enjoyed it but I’m not really into novels.. 3 hours in and I felt like I still hadn’t learned much. I think this was a great book and a unique format but it just wasn’t for me. Call it user error.. 4/5 for me.
