Publisher's Summary
Multimillion-copy Sunday Times best seller Karen Rose is back with a brand-new series to get your pulse pounding.
Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has tried hard to put his past behind him. He escaped the violence of his cult upbringing when he was just 13, and since then routine and discipline have been his way of making sense of the world. But when a petite blonde woman crashes into his life, he begins to realise that a little bit of chaos might not be so bad.
Daisy Dawson has had more than her fair share of pain, too - but she's done being a victim. Daisy's determined to explore every new experience she can - including getting to know the dark and serious FBI investigator she meets when she fights off a masked attacker one night.
It soon becomes clear that Daisy's attack was just the beginning. Now the bloodied bodies of young women are showing up all over California, and as Gideon tries to find the killer, it's clear that Daisy is in more danger than they ever realised....

Half the book is missing
I couldn’t believe it. I was really enjoying the story, once I got passed the terrible narrator. THEN ....it stopped at chapter 23. Told that the book is to be downloaded in parts. That’s OK with me until I find out that the second half is not available. What the????? Audible should remove this from the list until all the book is available.

dreadful narrator
enjoyed the story, great to meet some new characters and catch up with a couple of familiar "faces" what really put me off was the narrator. I am aware that he is male and female voices are challenging but they all sounded like really bad drag acts, even the men. If the story hadn't been gripping I'd have given up.

That narrator needs to say sorry!
Good story as usual from Karen Rose but ugh, that narrator! Parts of it were like he was reading from a page that he'd only just been handed. Pauses mid sentence that I presume he thought were dramatic but actually often lost the context of the meaning. I enjoyed the story but this narrator spoiled it for me. It was painfully bad acting so if you're a die hard Karen Rose fan, you'll put up with it but if you aren't avoid this until it's re-recorded!

Mixed feelings
I enjoyed the build up to the outlining of the serial killer and the workings. The story had many elements most of which came together well. I did find the dabbling in soft pornographic story telling like a bad “dirty mag” story and it didn’t enhance the story and was quite off putting and unnecessary. The narrator had strange voices for female characters and a drawl that was too slow. But overall a good listen.

Not her best
While I still enjoyed the story, it has never taken me so long to finish a Karen Rose. The worst narrator I have ever heard. It made it very difficult to listen to. It may be the voices that ruined it for me but not one of the strongest storyline. Role on the next one.
