Not a fan. Won't read the sequel.

About a weak little woman who must be carried everywhere by her big strong adoring husband. Not relatable for me. I think women are stronger than this under most any circumstances including cancer. Just not my style. Left me feeling disappointed that I finished it out of curiosity.

Overly sentimental and unrealistic

I found the story to be maudlin and contrived. Reader does an okay job of voicing it, but my gag reflex prevented me from enjoying it, over all. I prefer a writer who is more spare and concise with her/his words

Dull

I kept waiting for something exciting or dramatic to happen. I found this book dull and predictable.

Pretty good story...

Spoilers...I enjoyed the overall story. The subject was touching. However, the ending was way too abrupt.
The narration was excellent. Parts of the story just weren't plausible: Claire's best friend was her doctor? This wouldn't happen as it would be a conflict of interest. That same friend promising she was going to live, no way would a doctor promise that.
Claire's mother has info on Claire's son who was given up for adoption, (just in case and for whenever Claire was ready for it?) yet whenever Claire would try to bring up the subject, her mother refused to speak of it. This made NO sense to me and was totally contradictory.
I felt more attention should have been devoted to the ending as it was a let down and anticlimactic.

seems like a childish book w/ unrea list if charac

I struggled to read from the first few pages until I finally gave up not even probably a quarter in. the characters seemed so childish and simplistic and very one dimensional. I couldn't feel any of the characters emotions. it seemed like a child's view of life and adults- so simplistic and lacking any different aspects of the characters. they were all all or nothing and dull.

Riveting

Loved the story. It had a nice flow even with some redundancy. The reader had a good vocal repertoire. Would read this author again.

Slow and predictable

The overall story is really good. I like the well developed characters. The audio performance was really good. This book is well written, but my problem is that it’s fairly obvious what the problem is. The entire story drags. The plot is very predictable, and I was waiting for the resolution before the problem was presented. The tension between the main couple seemed forced after everything they’d been through before, but eventually made mor
