Santamariammare è un paesino, apparentemente accogliente, adagiato tra le colline e il mare del Ponente Ligure che fa da sfondo alle vicende dei protagonisti di una storia che ha radici nel lontano 1973 e che si snoda per arrivare fino al 2020.Don Ignazio, gioviale parroco del paese, e Daniele Majani, burbero ma simpatico maresciallo coi baffi a manubrio, si trovano ad indagare su un omicidio avvenuto nel 1975. L’esito della loro indagine, però, avrà risvolti a dir poco inaspettati che toccheranno profondamente le loro vite grazie al contributo di alcuni concittadini (una Signora che “sa le cose”, due ragazze innamorate, una banda di arzille vecchiette) che li aiuteranno nelle indagini.
