Publisher's Summary

Promises of peace, stability, and happiness are lies...war is coming. The thin veil that separates the demonic hordes from humanity has been torn open. For Gabriel and his small group, their race from Afghanistan is nearing its end. However, darkness and fate will not give up so easily. Even though Gabriel cannot see what evil lurks around the next corner, he knows that, ultimately, all great moments are born of sacrifice.

Meanwhile, in the quiet reaches of the American Northwest, Detective James must solve a string of ritualistic murders before they kill again. His moral conviction driven to the edge of sanity by the brutality perpetrated on the innocent has given him a clear conscious to do what is necessary once he finds the perpetrators. Justice dances with revenge as the devil plays on.

The cabal known as the Assembled moves closer to open domination of mankind as global chaos takes hold with the arrival of a demonic envoy. However, two compromising factors still linger. Gabriel Willis and Othia Morgan must die. Their twisted faith to see the dark deed through will shred the very fabric of our reality. Humanities end is inevitable, only the hour of our demise is debatable.

Everything is Ratcheted Up For This One

Buckle in and get ready because this book is pedal to the metal the whole way through. There is a lot going on in book three and from time to time I did find myself a bit lost. You have to push through though because as the story progresses it becomes more and more epic. Each book seems to try to out do the last and the tension and excitement are really amped up in this one.

I like how while each book is in the same series, it almost feels like each book is quite a bit different from the previous ones. Each one almost has its own genre and while they can’t stand alone, they really feel quite a bit different. Where I felt like the first two books were more action thriller, this one is the start of an all-out battle of good vs evil. A lot more demons and angels involved and the religious aspects of the story arc are really coming through.

I still am enjoying the cast of characters. Characters come and go, but the main trio is still a solid group to follow and be invested in. As the title suggests, there will be sacrifices, and there may be a few tears shed.

Meral Mathews is a really good narrator and he continues to provide a stellar performance. The confidence and quality of his narration coupled with his spot on character voices really brought a lot of excitement and tension to the story. I really liked his demon voices and can't wait to hear more of them.

The 3rd book in the series really packs a punch

The first three books reminds me of the original Star Wars trilogy in their pace and action. This is the 3rd book so like return of the Jedi there are tremendous reveals, huge battles and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There will be losses there will be new allies. There will be room for much more to come. I eagerly anticipate more from this series. Truly groundbreaking in its originality and delivery. Well written and well narrated highly recommend. Sacrifice

This volume took longer for me to immerse myself into the story. I am not sure if it was because I took a break from the series to focus on another book or what. I did eventually fall back into the characters and their plight and I enjoyed it again for what it was. It was a good bridge between books in the series. Character development and dismemberment worked well to further the tale. I enjoyed the narration and I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

a little graphic

This series is pretty original. While there were triumphs, there were also heart aches. Some a little more graphic than expected.

So, I have to say, this is the best of the series, so far. It was so interesting and well done. I love where the author is going with the overall story arc. The naration continues to impress. All in all, this is a must have for any fan of well written horror.

I think it's the best yet

it took me three days no two and a half days to listen to the 3 books and I think the last book is the most successful one so I loved the first and second book nevertheless but this story and I don't want to write spoilers or something about the book because I don't do this usually I just want to tell you that I loved those books very much they were very good I was thinking on the line of what is this series will become a movie or it TV series and somehow I feel that no one will be able 2 pronounce those little subtlety and little things that can be only written it was just amazing

Loving this

So we start book three with Samantha trapped in Purgatory, where she encounters an old foe and meets up with a small team of five angels to assist in her escape, meanwhile, Gabriel and Othia have arrived at The Pit, which I took to mean Hell, they are both unconscious and Gabriel is in another dream state where he meets with Vikaro and Samyaza - spelling may be inaccurate due to this being an audiobook - he's there to receive the word of God which enables him to see the demons aroud him, this involves excruciating pain so he should be grateful that he's asleep.

Gabriel's wife, Jennifer and their two children are still being held by the assembled, but they are also being watched by another group of angels, tasked to help them if the need should arise, which it does when Uther, the leader of assembled orders their slaughter by the devourers after being kicked around a bit by an angry demon raised by Cincaid.

Much slaughter and mayhem ensue, eventually Gabriel is reunited with his family but all is not well, I will not tell you why, no real spoilers here, listen to it for yourself to find out what happens, I think you'll agree with me that book four will be a necessary listen.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review, and in my honest opinion you should grab it now, but you'll need to listen to books one and two first, that is definitely a must as it will make no sense as a one off listen.
