Ryder Davis didn't go to the hardware store intending to play hero. He went after a new faucet for his bathroom. But when he saw the angel in the plumbing aisle, it was obvious Brennan needed someone to step in and fix things for him. No problem, saving a beautiful man in distress was something Ryder was happy to do.

Fixing Brennan's plumbing turns into fixing his employment situation, and then right on to fixing his single status. But will Brennan's determination to be the kind of man he thinks he is supposed to be keep him from being the boy a Daddy like Ryder needs?

38 yo Ryder Davis owns a successful construction business. He’d like a relationship where he can shower love and care on someone but he’s more concerned about trying to handle the admin and paperwork his business demands of him. When he overhears a confused phone call in a hardware store, he can’t help but offer assistance to the cute young guy. 24 yo Brennan Taylor thought his business management degree would land him a great job but he’s beginning to think his critical parents are right. When a chance meeting leads to a job managing Ryder’s business, it’s hard for both men to remain professional, but Ryder wants some sort of daddy / boy relationship and Brennan is tired of people telling him what to do.

I liked this, it was pleasant but it didn’t grip me. Daddy romances are often very sweet and this one is particularly feel-good. I would have welcomed slightly more angst—the two potential high-drama scenes were resolved relatively quickly and easily and I felt the author missed an opportunity to make the story more impactful. Ryder and Brennan have good chemistry and Ryder was in a position to solve a lot of Brennan’s problems, so it was interesting to watch the two men work to make sure it wasn’t a purely transactional exchange. Thankfully, Brennan’s organised, independent streak helped with this. I liked the many characters and their potential dramas, so I’ll definitely chase up more in this daddy series. 🎧 US voice actor Kirt Graves is always brilliant and he clearly modified his voice to clearly delineate between Brennan and Ryder.
