Publisher's Summary

Fawn Reed has kissed one too many toads and has finally decided that Prince Charming doesn't exist. After countless mishaps, mistakes, and unmitigated disasters on the dating scene, she's decided to give up and move on with her life...solo.

Everything changes, however, after Fawn runs into Levi Fremont, a homicide detective new to New York City.

Dedication to the job has rendered Levi's love life nonexistent - until he moves in next door to the free-spirited Fawn. After a series of comedic run-ins push them together, will they finally give in to the inevitable and realize - maybe - they are perfect for each other?

Spellbinding

This love story was amazing. I didn't want to stop listening.
Narrator's were fantastic.
The Author Aurora Rose Reynolds is awesome. I love how she describes everything. Plus at the end she goes further in years so you know what happens for the lovely couple in her story.

Great story - Female Narrator - ANNOYING

I do love anything written by Aurora Rose Reynolds, but oh my the female narrator was just plain AWFUL!!! Her voice is annoying and too high pitched. Normally, I listen to a sample, but in a rush I grabbed this one and I have suffered through this audible story. I will remember to stay away from this narrator in the future!

Loved this sweet very low angst story. I may re-read the kindle version soon, since I felt as though this narrator really took away from what would have been a 5 star read for me!

Amazing I love both narrators.

I love when Alexander and Carly get together. Aurora always hits it out of the park, and this is no exception.

Female narrator loud and shouty.

The loud, shriek in the female voice brings it down. Ok story, ok male narrator.

Narration

I usually like when they have male and female narrators, but the male narrator made the female characters sound ditzy and his voice for the female lead was almost the same as the voice he used for a 10 year old girl, which says a lot.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

For some this story may be tooooooooooo sweet. It was the perfect story for the beyond crap day it was. It was a sweet slice of much needed distraction. I started the book shortly after hearing of the tragedy in LV and only unplug my headphones to talk to my family & do homework before plugging right back in.

The mix of sweet innocence, crazy & the little bit of suspense was adorably loveable. Carly Robins played Fawn to perfection. Now Alexander Cendese wasn't on my radar as a strong yummy male lead prior to this performance BUT he sure is now!!!

Aurora Rose Reynolds told a fine story. However, I would have enjoyed a bit more of the love birds in their HEA. or more on the sisters or just more.

The last part of the ending was a nice addition to all the warm & fuzzy. I hope you enjoy this book if only a fraction of what I did. I'm thankful it was there when I needed a little happy.

OMG...Levi!! Swoon...

Levi ran into Fawn...literally...on the day that he moved to NYC for his new job. After the strange encounter with the hawt guy, Fawn is aghast that he's moving into the apartment across the hall. Sparks fly...will these two different ppl be able to be more than friends? OMGEEE! I so floved this book...listened to it all afternoon to the end! We got it all...scared of relationship h and a really nice H...throw in crazy families, a murder and some ex drama and we have an 'un-put-downable' book. Aurora Rose Reynolds is a very talented author! Have enjoyed every single book that she's written and look forward to more...need to get MacKenzie and Wesley's story!!!

Mixed review on narration, language

The audiobook would have been more enjoyable if the female narrator had performed the entire book. She was excellent. However, the male narrator was cringe-worthy whenever he was reading female dialogue. He went squeaky and whiny. It was pretty painful.

Regarding the story line, it was overall a fun, light story with some negatives. First of all, the characters meet when Fawn crashes into Levi when she’s running in the park with earbuds in and her eyes closed. What??? Who in the world runs full speed ahead with their eyes tightly closed? A very forced scene. The other negative is all the F*** usage by Levi. So unnecessary to the character or story. Just makes him look crass, which wasn’t fitting with his character.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, but not one I’d listen to twice.

Aww! Fawn and Levi are just the sweetest

Levi is charming, sweet and caring. Protective and persistent.
Fawn is quirky, kind and just radiates goodness. Her awkwardness and crazy just make her extra relatable.
Actually, I gotta say, I completely dig Fawn’s crazy. It is hilarious - and she may be my soul sister.
Their families also exude crazy, but I love that too.
I really enjoyed seeing the dynamics between the family members ( the sisterly love between Mac, Libby and Fawn had me cracking up) and the bond that Levi and Muffin built was just super precious.
And the epilogue... Oh. My. Heart *sighs dreamily* it was just perfection.

Carly and Alexander did a great job with narration!

Not worth my time

DNF 75%
I just couldn’t continue beyond 75%. I’m surprised I even made it that far.
Very annoying characters (especially the h), little to no character development, plot or context.
Author wrote the characters as complete cliches (clumsy, cute, nerdy and oh so beautiful but she doesn’t know it school teacher/ Growly Alpha macho cop who decides she’s “his” the moment they meet) without any context or justification for their personalities, she just decided that’s what they were and we have to buy it, making this story completely shallow and pointless.
As for the narration, well the narrators aren’t my favorite to be honest. The male narrator has an annoying voice and when he reads the female dialogue he makes an extremely obnoxious voice and intonation that is grating.

Preferred To Read It

I enjoyed this book overall but I did not enjoy the audio version. The male narrator spoke to quickly and his version of any female lines sounded really off. The female narrator was just ok. I switched over to reading it because the audio was spoiling my enjoyment of the book.

Great story though - I will definitely be following the series.
