FOUR DAYS AGO: the murders increased tenfold.

THREE DAYS AGO: the President addressed the nation and begged for calm and peace.

This didn't start off well for me, I *cringed* at the narrators Australian accent. Was glad that it didn't continue and popped up at again only at the end. Ooof I shuddered!! I do like this narrator for the most part and have listened to him in other books but overall there was something off here.
Maybe it was the story?
I really struggled with that too. There were moments when it was interesting but I felt like there was many gaps, many unnecessary parts and a lot of predictable incidents that just made it all seem messy.
Which is a shame cos I do like this author.

Oh, he’s a man now because he’s killed for his family …. Macho rubbish. Really did not like the main characters. Cliche writing with no building of the reason for the circumstances other than some vague God stuff… at the end was looking for a what happened to the people that got affected and some story on that it was just rushed over a bit more vague God stuff very unsatisfying story would not recommend it

Toxic masculinity and weak storytelling
