Publisher's Summary

From a master of suspense....

Eight classic murders.

A single crime obsessive.

Countless thrilling twists.

A series of unsolved murders with one thing in common: each of the deaths bears an eerie resemblance to the crimes depicted in classic mystery novels.

The deaths lead FBI Agent Gwen Mulvey to mystery bookshop Old Devils. Owner Malcolm Kershaw had once posted online an article titled 'My Eight Favourite Murders,' and there seems to be a deadly link between the deaths and his list - which includes Agatha Christie's The ABC Murders, Patricia Highsmith's Strangers on a Train and Donna Tartt's The Secret History.

Can the killer be stopped before all eight of these perfect murders have been re-enacted?

Absolutely brilliant

Peter Swanson is a wonderful writer. This was one I didn’t want to end. So many characters but flows without confusion.

Wonderful

I just love this. The narrator the story the whole lot. I read this in almost one sitting. All the books he take about are favourites of mine. I also love the ending the only way it could finish. A diamond.

Good Book for Mystery lovers

I got this audiobook on the recommendation of Richard Osman who specifically recommended the audio book.

I’m a fan of Agatha Christie books so I thought I ‘d give it a go.

I found the narrator quite good- but he sounded quite robotic, I wonder if that was his interpretation of the narrating character - i found it a bit harsh some days.

A book to walk or cook to- not a book to listen to in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep as it does make you think too much.

Intriguing story

As a mystery reader, I found this unique take on crime novels very entertaining, the narration was also excellent.
