Publisher's Summary

Keegan:

Sightseeing, gay bars...and if I'm lucky, maybe a couple of random hookups. That's the extent of my plans when I sign up for a European vacay with my buddies. I've never heard of this Parlaisa country - but hey - a cheap flight and two-star hotel are perfect for a poor college kid, right? And the trip turns out to be even better than I could have possibly imagined when I end up in a bar with some sexy masked guy's tongue down my throat.

And damn...what a tongue.

Even with his face partially obscured, Sexy Masked Guy can't hide those hypnotic steel blue eyes, his chiseled jawline, or the gun show he's working with under that tight T-shirt. But after our kiss, he proves to be nothing more than a cocky, dismissive a-hole. As if that isn't bad enough, flash forward - after one hell of a misunderstanding, I'm arrested by the Parlaisan royal guard and taken to a dungeon, where I learn that Sexy Masked Guy is actually Sexy Prince.

Prince Owen Hawthorne III.

Yes, I was kissing the Prince of Parlaisa!

Even worse, pics of us kissing are posted on the notorious Prince Watch blog. Prince Owen III has been unmasked by the paps, and we've both been outed. And here I had been planning to finally tell my family about my inclinations towards rainbows, glitter, and c--k as soon as I got back home to Fever Falls.

Seems like my vacation can't get any wackier, but now, Prince Owen needs a favor - a fake relationship favor. All I have to do is pretend to be his boyfriend for a good cause and some cash that I could really use right about now. But do I really want to team up with a guy who's been nothing but a prick to me in the short time that I've known him?

Of course, before I know it, I'm in too deep. Fortunately, Owen's strict "no messing around" rule will keep this from getting out of control.

Even though I can't stop thinking about how he knew exactly what he was doing with his tongue.

Even though he loves watching me prance around in my underwear.

Even though he can't get enough of me on my knees, doing what I do best.

Dammit - did we already screw this up?

Talk about a #RoyalProblem.

#Royal is part of the Fever Falls series but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

A Royal Fake Romance Love Story..

#Royal by Devon McCormack is the fourth book in the Fever Falls series but can be read as a stand alone. Ithis is a fun contemporary m/m romance that has a total fake relationship turns real feel. The story made me laugh and smile with his humor and sweetness... but it deals a good amount of steam as well. Keegan and Owen are fantastic characters and I loved seeing their relationship develop and strengthen. Really enjoyed this one. The story's Narrator is Michael Pauley and he does a fantastic job. Each character has their own unique personality that shines through with their voices and tone. The story is made even more entertaining with this audio. Clear and smooth recording.

Although this is part four of the Fever Falls Series, this CAN be read as a standalone book! And this book is not one to miss - sexy Prince, fake romance, humor and lots of steamy scenes make this book a fun and entertaining read. Keegan is a poor college guy on a European vacation with friends who ends up almost hooking up with the Prince of a small European country. But when those Keegan and Prince Owen were making out in the bar, they didn't realize people were taking their picture. Now their picture is posted, they've been outed and Owen needs Keegan to pretend to be his boyfriend (for a good cause of course - and some cash). But despite Owen's rule of "No messing around", can these two keep their distance, or will their fake relationship become real? This is such a fun book and one that constantly had me smiling. Keegan and Owen's interactions are just so intense, and further in the story when their interactions get steamier and sweater, you can't help love their story. The narration is fantastic and Michael Pauley did awesome bringing their personalities and uniqueness through, while bringing these characters to life. This is by far my favorite of the series, and I loved the audiobook so much more than ebook, because of the narrator and his performance!

Good Read

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. This is my first book by Devon and the first one in this series. I really enjoyed listening to this story and can't wait to read/listen to more books by Devon. Keegan goes on a trip with friends to a kingdom and when they go to a club he meets Owen. Owen thinks that Devon is going to out him since he saw him without his mask on. I liked Owen’s straight forwardness and how he was upfront about his feelings towards Keegan. This is a must read.

Excellent Narration

Keegan is on vacation with friends and is celebrating getting ready to come out of the closet. While out at a bar in a foreign country, he meets and kisses a guy where sparks eventually fly. Owen is the prince of the country but in costume, so no one will know who he is. He has never kissed a guy before and has been very well known to sleep around with women. When he ends up kissing Keegan, things get crazy and jumbled in his head. There is miscommunication, political games, fake boyfriend turns true love, and age gap in this book. It was a good story, and it was made even better by listening to Michael Pauley narrate it. I enjoyed it. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC provided by LesCourt Author Services

Overshadowed

I’m typically a sucker for this trope, but this took me a while to get into. I felt myself being more interested In Casey and Steve’s story than the main characters.

Starts off "fake" becomes "real"... SURPRISE???

Starts off "fake" becomes "real"... SURPRISE??? Bet you didn't see that coming. I find this book extremely predictable right to the end. Even the plot was what you would expect. At times, I would tune out... hoping for something new and exciting. It didn't happen. I ended the book and felt... glad it's over so I can get on to next. I'm sorry. The story was way too simple for my enjoyment. Although Michael Pauley is amazing, I felt the voice for Keegan was not appropriate; a bit too masculine for him. Regardless, Michael did an awesome job as usual. If you are looking for a simple HEA ... well here it is! Enjoy!

Great!

Loved this latest book from Devon McCormack and narrated by Michael Pauley! I love the prince/commoner trope and was happy to see that McCormack did it right! I think I missed one of the previous books in the series so I was a little behind on who some of the secondary characters were but it didn't detract from the book and stands alone fairly well. Michael Pauley does a great job with narrating this one!

Paparazzi suck!

Why can't people just mind their own business?? Keegan and Owen shouldn't have to worry about being outed if they didnt want to be. But no, there's an arrest, a dungeon (sadly not the kinky kind) and a fake relationship. Devon always makes these guys have so much personality and I love the interplay.

Prince Charming?

Michael Pauley is probably my favourite narrator and he does an excellent job with this book as I've come to expect from him. I've not read any of the other Fever Falls books yet, though I feel that I need to rectify this at some point as I've read many of Devon's other stories. I love Devon's writing style and blend of humour, sass and fun with plenty of man on man sexy times. This tale of a commoner meeting a European prince was enchanting and exciting. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance and of stories involving royals in particular.

A Bit Boring

I'm sorry to say that I found this story a bit boring. The heart-to-heart sharing by Owen and Keegan, and later by Lucas and Owen, was my favorite part, but I just didn't feel the connection between Owen and Keegan. Maybe it was the age difference, I'm not sure. The story felt a little disjointed with the hopping back and fort between countries. I also found it challenging to keep all the ancillary characters and relationships straight, most likely because this was my first book in the series. I was also a little thrown off by the fact that the story didn't really deal much with the marriage equality issue which is what I thought started the whole relationship. I would rather have seen a friends to lovers story between Owen and his best friend. I think that would have been hot, and more understandable. To sum it up, I think if you have read/listened to the first three books in the series, you will have less trouble getting into this one and enjoy it more. The relationship just didn't click for me. The narration by Michael Pauley was strong as always. Great tone, pacing, and emotion. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook through the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Mind-blowing

This book to being with was wonderful. I enjoyed everything from the characters to the plot. McCormack has an talent for spinning tales. Pauley's narration stretches his talents and proves that he is an exceptional master of a vast range of characters. All and all absolutely enjoyable,

Royal -ly Fantastic

Keegan is a college student that is working the bars to see him through college. His friends ae going to a tiny country called Parlaisia in Europe and ask him to go with them. He thinks ok , never heard of this place but you never know, i can see the sights troll the gay bars for inspiration an maybe get lucky. Owen is a Prince of Parlaisia, and once a month he and his "adviser" Frederic go and have a blow out. The fact that they double down with women DOES NOT mean they do each other. Owen's country is coming up to a vote on same sex marriage, which the royal family are in favour of but Owen's brother the king can't be shown to be openly favouring this act. The fact that their mother the Queen was in a lesbian relationship for many years does not help the king. They meet at a bar when the cos-play festival is in full swing, and Keegan ends up kissing Owen who is wearing a mask hiding his face so as not to be recognised. There are fireworks as this kiss blows them both away. Keegan ends up in the palace dungeons after a misunderstanding and Owen rescues him. This is the story of Owen and Keegan's meet-cute and how they develop as a couple. It's a lovely story and as usual Michael Pauley makes the character come alive. I wish I could have Michael wrapped up and sent to me so I can listen to hos voice eveyday.

Princely Romance ❤️

I am loving the Fever Falls series by Devon McCormack and Riley Hart. This is the forth book and although not my favourite so far, I very much enjoyed it. We met Keegan earlier in the series so it’s nice to see him grown and finding his HEA. It was great to see the relationship developing between him and Prince Owen, although at times our Royal Highness could definitely be a bit of a nob! It’s fairly slow burn, hot once it gets there and a proper old fashioned caper in parts. A good fun listen. Michael Pauley’s narration is brilliant, his accents are fab and his comedy timing is impeccable. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Royal swoon

Another great instalment in the Fever Falls series, a fake relationship, age gap and a straight but not quite MC with some royal flair. I bought the book as soon as it came out and devoured it in one sitting, the audiobook totally enhances the story. Michael Pauley really captures Keegan and Owen’s voices, Michael Pauley has a fantastic ability of conveying all the emotions the characters go through. I was even more immersed in this story whilst listening. Keegan goes on a holiday to Parlaisa to really discover himself and he certainly got a lot more than he bargained for. A chance meeting with Prince Owen sees him arrested after a misunderstanding and then part of a fake relationship with the Royal. Keegan and Owen experience many ups and downs on their journey to HEA, there are a few tough subjects covered in their story which Devon McCormack deals with brilliantly. I really couldn’t get enough of these two, they were super hot but then this is a Devon McCormack book so that’s no surprise. This can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but I would definitely recommend going back through the Fever Falls series, we meet all previous couples in Royal and all their stories are fab.

A cute Royal romance!

🌟🌟🌟🌟 4.25 stars 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Heat Level: 4 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧 Narration: 5 A cute Royal romance! I really enjoyed this Royal adventure. From Fake boyfriends to more I loved the progress and salacious details! I found Keegan endearing, innocent but more mature than his age. He had more in common with the Prince than he expected and I liked their innocent misunderstandings and progression to more! Their connection sends sparks flying and even though they had a 13 year age gap it rarely felt like it was there.  While I don't feel any of the Royal elements are particularly real or even close to reality, it was a wonderful escape into a royal fantasy where there's a prince to sweep you off your feet.  I found Keegan endearing and loved how he got Owen to open up and how they were always equal even with their unique social standings. Owen was able to embrace a side of himself he kept trying to ignore and I loved the history of the Queen of Parliasia. All in all, I found this a very enjoyable bit of escapism and really want to learn more about Fever Falls and it's other colorful characters!! As always Michael is an exceptional narrator and I loved his English accent!! Thanks for reading!

Nice enough

A fake to real relationship story. At the start of this book I thought that Prince Owen was a bit of a prat but he kinda grew on me as the book progressed. Keegan was an absolute sweetie right from the start. This was not my favourite of the trope, but it was nice enough, I did however have reservations about how they would have worked for having such wildly differing life experience, the age gap for me wasn't an issue and could have been completely forgotten about except it was brought up quite often. In fact there was points I thought Owen acted younger than Keegan! I am going to go back and read/listen to others in the series as I want see how some of the secondary characters' for their relationships and I want to know what happens next in the town of Fever falls. Michael Pauley is as ever brilliant, I could listen to his voice all day... wait I did!

Hot damn! Perfectly narrated surprise romance

Woo! What a fake romance tale of royal proportions! Keegan is a perfectly innocent when he steps into Prince Owen's world and falls into an unexpected whirlwind of emotions as the two fake a relationship to help show the people of Parlasia that a same sex relationship is nothing out of the ordinary and to help push through the same sex marriage bill in parliament. Owen is used to a carefree lifestyle even as the Prince of his country. Keegan brings up a never before felt attraction to a man and a need/want to do more for others. things build quickly for the couple with real feelings soon be coming mixed up. This is such an enjoyable story to read! I fell straight into the characters and the attraction that they felt straight away with a lot building upon that as we go through the story. They each have grief in their past that allows them to bond further and pro ice support. The two men match up perfectly, regardless of age difference and backgrounds. They have a lot of cute moments together as well as hot but balanced with a couple that really pull at the heartstrings. There's a great supporting cast of characters, a lot from previous Fever Falls books but also bring in Owen's family and friend, even if they are not the closest and have trouble communicating at times. I haven't read/listened to the previous books yet and I didn't feel lost at any point, though it's clear the couple's that have had their own stories so far. Definitely going back to get them! Cannot recommend this story enough. So much fun to read and one of my favourite fake romance stories. Michael Pauley does another fantastic job narrating a contemporary Rom and his accents for the people from Parlasia are amazing, especially when strong emotions come through! Right from the start, the narration drew me into the story and I needed to keep listening as much as I could to find out what happened with the MC's but also the result of the votes in parliament.
