Terrible narration
The performance was unbelievably bad.
The men’s voices were done very well. But the others were hopeless. The heroine sounded like a drag queen and the child sounded like no child I have ever heard. They were terrible caracatures . Plus the Irish accent was off.
I was extremely disappointed as the poor voiceovers took away from the story to such an extent that I couldn’t understand why this actor was hired to do the female and child voices .

Super Great!!!
Where does Rowan's Lady rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would list this at the top!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Rowan because he was so honorable and lovable to his family and clan. You could cry with him and laugh with him.
Have you listened to any of Brad Wills’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes I have listened to Brad and he is the only one I would listen to. He is super great with the voices. I loved how he did the little girl Lily. I just don't know how he can change to all of the characters and do a different voice and keep up with who's voice is who. His accent is perfect and very sexy. I call him Mr. Sexy. :-)
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Honor and Love above all for his clan and family.
Any additional comments?
I love Suzan Tisdale because she can tell a historical romance without going into detail of the sex parts. It is a very clean book that all could read.

Fantastic
Would you consider the audio edition of Rowan's Lady to be better than the print version?
I think both the written and the audio are Very Good. Its a different experience to read it or listen. I will say listening does add a different dimension to the story. It would come down to the individual, do you like to read or listen, and if your like me you'll do both! What's fun is to hear, Mr. Brad Willis, and his different voices for the characters. I absolutely Loved little Lilly's voice, so adorable. Then he'd be Rowan, and ahh, well, I'll just say, Mr. Willis is very GOOD at what he does! Very convincing as a leading hero, the best friend or the maid. He even had me snarling at Beatrice. Listen to find out why....
What was one of the most memorable moments of Rowan's Lady?
I'm sure there are specific moments I could bring up but I'd rather say, I laughed, teared up, giggled, sighed, felt anticipation, joy, was angry, and back to happy.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoy Suzan Tisdales' books. This series and all the characters are fun to "hang out" with.. This story is one I had read before, now I've listened and read it. I will revisit it again like an old friend and enjoy it anew.

Suspense and Romance
Would you try another book from Suzan Tisdale and/or Brad Wills?
yes, but I would not want to have Brad Wills do another "child voice". I do not think that Brad Wills should try imitating a child voice. His imitation of Lily was a bit annoying. She sounded like a whiny kid. The book would be better if they got someone else to do Lily.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Rowen. I loved Brad Wills did a wonderful job of imitating a highland chieftan.
What three words best describe Brad Wills’s performance?
Masculine (Rowen) Charming (Lady Aileen) Annoying (Lilly). Thankfully, Lily had a minor role in the story.
Did Rowan's Lady inspire you to do anything?
Keep listening. Lady Aileen was very courageous in spite of her circumstances. Lady Aileen was concerned about doing what was right in spite of the danger to herself. Of course, the author gave you a glimpse of the heroine's internal stuggles so you wanted to find out what happened next.
Any additional comments?
This book was fairly well written. A lot of treachery, dangerous situations, and internal stuggles added to the excitement and suspense of the story.

Torn about the voices and the storyline
Any additional comments?
So, yes the narrator's voice is yummy on most characters. I just couldn't understand the little girl Lily's voice and thought Beatrice was overdone. Having said that, I think I prefer a narrator to 'act' the parts as Brad does - nothing monotone here. The storyline was good, but on a few occasions I felt the main characters came across a bit clueless for not being able to figure out who the 'bad guy' was - not believable on that level. There was also the quick ending/epilogue. I got the impression the author was tired of writing and just wrapped everything up quickly. From my p.o.v. and considering the other historical romances I've been listening to of late, if you spend that much time investing in the build up between two characters (vis a vis romance), you should let the reader linger in their coming-together. It just felt a bit anticlimactic in the end. With all that said, I am looking forward to another installment since anything 'Highlander' tickles my fancy, but I'll be sure to get my fill of other steamier romances in the meantime and maybe check out some of the narrator's other performances.

This is a good one!
Usually the Highlander Books are a bit more steamy than this one, in fact this one has no steam, just sweet thoughts about bedding her. Brad Wills narrates this to perfection. What a voice and accent. The only thing was hard to get used to was his interrpretaton of Lily the little girl's voice. Ouch, but you got used to it. Also it got funny since Lily couldn't pronounce her R and L's. Too cute.
This story keeps your interest and the second half of the book is really great. It's one of those, get on with it and tell her you love her type story and when that finally happens, there's always something else that gets in the way. Whew... The end is good. Very good actually. I did shed a few tears.
I'll get the second book in the series if it's on sale.

narrator should'nt do child voices!
Would you listen to Rowan's Lady again? Why?
I liked the story very much. The only downside to the audible version was I couldn't understand the narrator when he did Lily's voice-making it hard to imagine her as a
believable chacter.
What did you like best about this story?
I like stories about highlanders, what else can I say!

What other book might you compare Rowan's Lady to and why?
I never compare books, I love all of Suzan Tisdale's amazing stories!
What does Brad Wills bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love listening to audio while I create my jewelry items, I love the intonations of his voice, great to listen to!

Couldn't continue due to grandiose narration
Narration was so theatrical, over the top, forced and unnatural that I stopped and no doubt missed out on a great story. When he narrates the female I thought it was a joke. I actually think this is a send up. Don't let am dram people loose on audio books. Poor author.

Orville the duck!!!!
The narrator sounds like Orville the Duck when he’s being the 4 year old girl - no joke. It’s dreadful! And his ‘sexy seductive female’ voices were so very cringeworthy. His voice whist using his natural male British accent is lovely, but unfortunately the characters are all Scottish or Irish and his accents aren’t great. Reallllllllly need a better suited narrator.
Then, the story. Didn’t really feel the love which is a bit of an issue when it’s a romance story. Also, the plot line was like a pantomime and ridiculous and reminded me more of a kid’s TV show. He’s an awful clan leader and really should do better at keeping his clan safe in the face of an unknown traitor. Returning this book!

Ok story but totally ruined by bizarre accents and pronunciation. Ranged from camp English to truly awful Scots and Irish. Palm pronounced to rhyme with bomb. The famous Scots glottal stop totally missing. Why not get a native Scot to narrate?
