W lipcu 2006 roku Prezydent RP Lech Kaczynski w uznaniu zaslug Witolda Pileckiego i jego oddania sprawom ojczyzny odznaczyl go posmiertnie Orderem Orla Bialego. W 2013 roku Pilecki zostal awansowany do stopnia pulkownika.
