Publisher's Summary
Rosco McGlashan is a legend of Australian motorsport and drag racing. He is the current Australian land speed record holder. His early years were tough. He spent time in state-run homes and remand centers, eventually leaving home and school at 12. He then drives up north in Western Australia, upping his age from 12 to 16, to find work and fund his racing career.
He fought everyone and everything and, at 17, ended up in prison and even solitary confinement. Once released, his salvation comes through his love of speed and raw horsepower. He focuses his fighting spirit on racing and going very fast. His V8 drag bike and jet dragsters take him from Perth and WA all over the world to race. He meets some incredible people, leading to amazing adventures and tales that will leave you speechless.
He crashes a car at nearly 600 mph and walks away. He also clinically dies on an operating table when another car he was racing went off a mountain road. He was revived and went on to break many more motor racing and speed records. He meets mass murderers and world leaders, then casually chats with the Dalai Lama. Eventually, Rosco turns his attention to capturing the Australian and world land speed records, a goal he set himself at age 12. This motorsport and land speed quest takes him to Russia, where he is kidnapped by the Russian Mafia when trying to buy two MIG jet fighter engines and manages to fight his way out. In 1994, he broke Donald Campbell’s Australian land speed record.
Rosco and the Aussie Invader team are finishing their latest record-breaker, the world’s fastest and most powerful car, Aussie Invader 5R. This car has 200,000 horsepower, the equivalent of 200 Formula cars! You won’t be able to put Rosco: The Fastest Aussie on Earth down. This book is an incredibly inspiring, moving, motivational story of guts, grit, and determination. Quitting is not in this man’s vocabulary.

Uncomfortable truths at times, pretty honest and again truth can be stranger than fiction
Lots about cars & the need for speed , but this book goes so much more , this forever child
Confesses to bad decisions & accepting consequences .
As kids in the back yard we dream of flying a washing basket too the moon , for 99.9% we grow out of this by 10 years old Not Rossco .
Dream believe & achieve
Also accepting the aging process any time are the mortal enemies of any one that dares to go beyond.
Gripped from the outset
At times I felt like my mate was talking too me .
Do the righty buy the book
He’s having a red hot go , give him a fair go.
Good luck Rossco

Rosco , what a great Story
having followed the story of the Aussie Invaders for many years, and having met Rosco and Cheryl several times, I was very interested to hear this story.
It's a story of a vision, and doing everything to see that vision to fruition, the technology behind all these cars is amazing, but Aussie Invader 5R is tribute to the hard work and tenacity of a driven person. The team behind the car, having to hand make so many of the parts and the amazing technology is an extraordinary team.
Well done to all involved.

I couldn't stop listening to this incredible story
Having known Rosco for a few years, I can honestly say this book is a true reflection of his incredible life. It was written by his friend who has captured the exact essence of his daredevil and tumultuous life. At times it leaves you speechless and amazed at the fact he lived to tell this tale at all, with so many near misses.
I learnt a lot about his early life and the tough and sometimes cruel upbringing he experienced, it explains a lot, but he didn't let it define him. After so many years he is still prepared to chase his lifetime dream, which means he is an inspiration to many others. As the book says "It's hard to beat someone who never gives up!" Don't be fooled, this is not just a book for the guys.

A ripping yarn about the life and times of Rosco
I highly recommend this book. It gave me new insight into Rosco and the build of Aussie Invader 5R. I was glad to hear of the help he's had designing the car. As a STEM ambassador for the Bloodhound LSR project I've always mentioned Rosco as our main, and now only, competition. Knowing something of the difficulties had when designing Bloodhound, I was concerned with AI5R. But now I understand he's all to aware of these difficulties. I wish him every success in breaking the record. He deserves to hold it, at least for a little while. It would be great to take it back from him! Good on ya mate. Stay safe!
