About this listen
Written with her trademark deadpan humour, Urzila's memoir is full of great stories about both the big things in life and the little things.
Urzila's accidental beginning in stand-up has led to an incredibly successful career in comedy, with regular gigs on television as well as sell-out shows in comedy festivals across New Zealand and Australia.
But life hasn't always been a bundle of laughs. Urzila talks candidly about her childhood with a great family, apart from her abusive dad, and about growing up in South Africa. She shares crazy but true tales about her OE, her move to New Zealand, coming out, getting married and having children, and her life in comedy.
This is a great listen from one of our most loved and most popular comedians.

From rags to success
I love Urzilla, and hearing her memoir makes me love her more. This book is less about laugh out loud comedy and more about understanding the real woman. Interesting to know about her roots and what lead her to be the successful comedian she is.

It takes a smart women to play the fool!
I LOVED this book. I always enjoy hearing Urzila conveying funny stories from her current life however I had no idea of the journey she went through to get to where she is today. She takes us through her very interesting journey demonstrating her strength, drive and passion in a hilariously funny way. What a treat to have it narrated by the lady herself. This is an uplifting, interesting and very funny book, I highly recommend. Enjoy

Absolutely loved it 🙏
Thank you Urzula. A total treasure from start to finish.
A laugh out loud, though not at all lacking in depth or substance, joy.

Funny B@$ch,
Urzila is my kind of comedian. No ones safe, and as long as it’s done without malice, nothing sacred.
I hope I can see her live, I want my hug and my photo.
This book is like having a few drinks with a mate, the kind of mate that makes you choke on your water by just coming out with rippers without having to set it up. Well worth your time to read/listen

A really enjoyable listen!
Urzila is great as a comedian and a writer and reader. You need to get to know her through her comedy, the
podcasts and this book - her memoirs.
She truly is more than meets the eye/ear and while at first you may find her bold and brash, she is a deep and caring, sensitive but strong person with a fascinating life story to tell and some great wisdom to share. I loved every minute of “Rolling with the Punchlines” and wish Urzila and her family all the best.
