Publisher's Summary

Jean-Pierre’s greatest gift was a lack of feelings. His past had ripped them away. But then he saw Eden. Onstage, she played her violin, spinning his head with songs that he’d tried to forget. Unable to stop himself, he makes Eden his obsession. And unlike any normal man, he takes what he wants.

But there’s someone in the shadows, blocking his path. His plans for Eden won’t be so simple. This mystery person sends Russians his way, igniting a war with the Bratva. It’s too bad that there’s no limit to his obsession for her - no force that can stop him, no bullet to get in his way. Jean-Pierre would kill anyone and destroy anything to taste Eden’s love, even go to war.

Absolutely Awesome!

This is one of the most enjoyable book I’ve listened to. No softening of the beast, author truly showed him for who he is without apology. I’m definitely listening to this more than once.

No No No No. this book was not it

while I truly love Kenya I believe she is a genius writer and outstanding with the art of writing, this book was a no for me. After reading the lion and the mouse series and falling completely in love with those strong characters i decided to try this book out. big regret! in my opinion Kenya is trying to hard to make this couple seem powerful and relatable, and it's just not working the way it works with Kazimier and Emily. yes i know these are completely different people however the tone is the same. there are too many similarities to ignore. Jean-Pierre just don't come across as that strong opponent she keeps trying to make us think he is. he isn't I don't see how he's hard to beat the character Kazimier is soooo much stronger and braver and more violent and vicious if you ask me. they are not the same, no just no. Eden seems so damn weak it's annoying. down right agonizing at how weak she is, she almost don't have a voice or back bone. their love story is so forced it's down right cringe worthy. they literally connect over their love of music nothing else. I'm sorry Kenya this is the first book of yours that I read and said nope. no it's not worth it. I am returning this one. I love you sister but Jean-Pierre definitely did not need a story. he needs to actually die in the next book, it's clear Kazimier is stronger then he is in every way.

Increíble

This book is so worth the money. It’s an amazing story that will not disappoint. This is my first book by Kenya Wright and her writing and vision for this story was incredible. My first with both narrators who also did excellent jobs. I gave 5 ⭐️’s all the way around. Take a chance on this book because you will not be disappointed but wanting to hear another. Thank You Kenya Wright for this treasure 👍❤️

Best Narrators, straight Sexy + worth while story

I love the way Kenya Wright does a good romance story. She's so good at using a formula of solid, interesting story+ sexy adult romance, minus the cheesiness, which is of course, perfection. I'm loving the French mafia vibe to the story and how all the other characters are working around each other under the MC's nose, It makes the story so much more interesting then a simple, safe read romance. Lets also give HIGH props to both narrators. At first I thought the female narrator was going to disappoint me, but man she really surprised me on how well she perfected the sexy scenes and the male French accent. At times she even rivaled the male narrator, but he was overall just as good. I can tell how much I like a story when its 12+ hours long and I'm left wanting more. Good show :)

Worst audiobook

The voice is robotic and doesn't match the character at all. It sounds like when you have the computer read aloud. Kisses I purchased it.

Bad narration ruins lives

first, let me say that you should listen to or read this book because it directly relates to the lion and the mouse saga. Unfortunately, this is one of those stories where the narrator ruins it all. correction, Blake is awesome. It is Cami who is horrible. her portrayal of a French accent is annoying calming her reading is very slow, and she in no way sounds like an African American female. I don't mean her tone. I mean her attitude. the only reason I am continuing to listen to this book is because it relates to the lion and the mouse. It gets a back story to what was going on to cause so much of the chaos and their story. however, their story is so so so much better. I am trying my best to toil through this one. Even at double time the speed it is very hard to get through

very original pieces added I love it

great story about a violinist who falls in love with a french gangster. The women narrator's voice was calming and being able to switch to a french accent was mind boggling. male narrator's voice sound like a old man but when he spoke French it was beautiful. This was the first book I've ever come across with the french mob in the story I loved it and who wants to go to the candy store aka brothel.

An amazing story again!

This is not my 1st time with this book. I read this book when it came out a year ago, but listening to it is an altogether different experience! The story-telling seems to come to life, and the connection to these characters is taken into another level. Of course, I downloaded the 2nd book, and I can't wait to listen!

Very bad narration

I wish the producers had used the same narrators from The Lion and The Mouse series. I just couldn’t get into this audiobook. The book was a better read however no where near as powerful as Wright’s other series. I found the female in this book very weak.

I found a new favorite author

This was more than I expected. I will buy the second book in the series. Terrific story line that catches you and keeps you engaged from the first chapter through the end and then leaves you wanting more.
