Publisher's Summary

Yoga instructor Genevieve Harper is a blond bombshell loaded down with responsibility and sacrifice. She makes the most out of raising her two siblings in the wake of their parents' tragic accident. At twenty-four, she doesn't have time to devote to a man...especially not the devastatingly handsome Trent Fox, who's known for being a "player" on and off the baseball field. Trent has the best hitting average in the league. Recently, he suffered a torn hamstring that takes him to the Lotus House Yoga Center for recuperation. There he meets the curvy, petite blonde with soulful black eyes and candy-coated glossy lips he'd like to do more to than kiss. He secures the flexible hottie for daily private lessons that ultimately show him how sensual the art of yoga can be.

Can love grow between a woman who's rooted in her life and a man who resists any notion of staying in one place?

If you're intrigued by the practice of yoga and desire a sensual, intensely erotic, and uniquely spiritual listen with characters capable of performing pretzel-like sexual acts, the Lotus House series is for you. Each of the seven books can be listened to as a standalone but are better listened to in order. No cliffhangers. Books are erotic romances written for mature audiences 18+.

Boring

Unless you are into yoga and enjoy hearing detailed poses and chakra information etc, skip it.

5 star story

The story was a little hard to get into but, I was sucked in soon and wanted to binge listen as soon as the characters were introduced. I love Audrey Carlan stories, and the narration was on point

LOVE CONQUERS RESISTANCE

I love how the art of yoga is being written in this novel series. How yoga can be used sexually. Plus, Trent was a true Alpha male to Genevieve's femininity. They were the perfect yin and yang coexist. The story and the characters were fantastically written. I know that this series will be GREAT!!

Okay

First book I've listened to, the narrators were very good, story line good, but with a book you can skip paragraphs when it's just to much sex.

Love Jacob Morgan

Love Jacob Morgan! The female voice got irritating after a while. I know she was trying to be all Zen, but too monotone.

Sweet, funny, and so much more!

5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!

Audrey Carlan has done it again! I starting reading her work with the Calendar Girls series and absolutely loved it. She quickly moved her way on to my Favorite Author List and with the start of this new series, she has just solidified her place and moved up her spot.
I love the fresh take on a sports romance . The yoga part was really refreshing and has made me miss the practice. I even gone so far as to make an appointment for refresher lessons.
I love Viv and Trent's characters. Their story was sweet, funny, exciting, and oh so HOT! I just love how Audrey was able to incorporate all the different aspects of the story and made it one hell of story. I can't wait to read more from her. Commence stalker mode!

Story was HOT, but....

I almost couldn't do it, thank goodness for Jacob. The female voice was extremely hard to listen to most of the time. The story itself was great. Would have been much better with another female narrator.

Resisting Roots

I liked how the author gave/taught yoga positions throughout the story it put the reader on new level with the character's in the book. Wether you know anything about yoga or you're a novice you can try these yoga positions as they are explained very well. The author does a great job drawing you into the characters lives and painting a good picture of the scenery. You can almost smell the cinnamon during the bakery scenes. I'm not sure how long someone could hold some of the posses that were mentioned, in one of the hotter scenes she had the two main charecters in, is that even possible, but it was steaming hot! I can't wait to read more from this author.

Surprisingly good

Would you consider the audio edition of Resisting Roots to be better than the print version?

I actually did both. I started with the audio and then purchased the print version. I listen to the audio books at work and driving but I rarely re-listen unless I'm in love with the book and narrator. When I get home, I switch to the print version because I"m a faster reader. This is one that I'm glad I purchased as I will reread the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Resisting Roots?

Toward the end, there is this truly moving moment between Genevieve and Trent which brings their story full circle. The story is well written and concise. There are a few tangents that happen where it seems out of sorts for the main story but it comes back nicely.

What does Holly Chandler and Jacob Morgan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I'm a HUGE fan of Jacob Morgan. His voice is like chocolate, you can never get enough. Holly did a solid job as well and I will research other books where she is a narrator. They both bring to life each character in a way where you want to invest in their story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The beginning definitely made me cry. I was able to personally relate to the story and the way it's written will move you. I don't want to give it away but it's the main crux of the story and it's very impact full.

Any additional comments?

When the narration first begins there is an overview that explains the accuracy of the yoga information. That put me off a little at first as I wasn't sure how the direction of the book would go. It turns out that the yoga references at the beginning of each chapter don't really relate to the book. It's more of an outline and directional detail for the chapter.
