About this listen

Tough, resourceful, ruthless - as an SAS trooper, Nick Stone was one of the best. Now he's back on the streets. After a botched mission, the Regiment no longer want his services. But British Intelligence does - as a deniable operator. It's the dirtiest job in a very, very dirty world.

In Washington DC, it's about to get dirtier still. On the apparently routine tail of two terrorists, he discovers the bodies of an ex-SAS officer and his family. Soon he's on the run with the lone survivor of the bloodbath - a seven year old girl. And whilst she can identify the killers, only Stone can keep them at bay - and solve a mystery whose genesis takes him back to the most notorious SAS mission in recent history...

Remote Control is the first of Andy McNab's blistering Nick Stone thrillers - bestsellers whose landscape is so compellingly close to the truth that they had to be vetted by the Ministry of Defence, and could only be published as fiction...

Critic Reviews

It's a corker
An enjoyably gritty thriller
Proceeds with a testosterone surge
When it comes to thrills, he's Forsyth class
McNab is the best suspense thriller writer to put pen to paper since Alistair MacLean (STEPHEN COONTS)
Action-packed and authentic in every detail, it gives us a hero who's at least as scary as the villains. Andy McNab is the real deal and a rare commodity - a hard guy who knows how to write (JOHN CASE)

This genre of story generally entices people who want a constant cracking pace. Remote Control only has that in parts and is otherwise surprisingly slow.

It is a good enough story though and I’ll read/listen on with the next in the series. Narration was quite good.

Good story, a little slow at times.

Enjoyed the obviously first hand experience detail of the under cover ops. The narrator needs to relax his style which is quite stilted.

action packed

I liked it. Narrator seems well suited to this type of book. Nice work guys.
But dammit, that ending ......... :)

Riveting listening

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

At times the book moved at a fast pace but other times it got bogged down with too much padding and detail about the most mundane things causing the book to move slowly.

Not as good as his other books

I felt sorry for Kelly being only 9 years old to lose her whole family at once

I felt sorry for Kelly but Nick did well holding everything together

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
