I really enjoyed this book!
The characters were relatable, mature and imperfect. I love that this book was more adult than YA. If you enjoy characters who are a little more grounded and whose decisions actually make sense (whether right or wrong) this would be a good book to read. The romance wasn't overdone but it was still steamy at times. The trials that some of the characters went through with their families were also touching. Overall, a book I'll be adding to my actual bookshelf!

finally a book with the perfect balance of fantasy to romance

I do enjoy a subtle fantasy series especially when it is so beautifully written. This is no grimdark or epic fantasy, but a wonderfully constructed world and magic system. This book deals mostly with the politics of this world, so if politicians and people being power hungry arses are not your thing than this book might be hard to get through. If you can, however, this book is a gem. Looking forward to the book.
