I loved the twists and turns in the story, and how it kept you guessing what could possibly happen next? The different characters telling their side was an interesting part of the story too. I very much enjoyed listening to this thriller it kept me wanting to listen to more and putting off what I was supposed to be doing in the real world!

Everything you would hope for in a thriller! Binged-listened over three days and it even made me late for work...! Clever plot, great suspense, loved the narration. 5-stars all round.

Brilliantly written and perfectly textured with twists and turns, this is a ripping story based on cautionary tales that takes the reader on unexpected roads. All of this complexity required the best narration which indeed it has.
I’ll be eagerly following everything by author Anna Downes and narrator Withington Maddy from now on!

Anna Downes’ Red River Road is a beguiling slow-burn thriller that delights in its subversion of well-trodden genre tropes while simultaneously grappling with a narrative that struggles to deliver on its tantalizing promises. With alternating chapters that plunge us into the minds of its diverse and compelling cast, the novel skillfully weaves multiple perspectives, creating a multifaceted tapestry of human experience and emotion.

The audiobook is absolutely First Class — perhaps the best female-read audiobook I’ve listened too yet. (Apart from one minor issue with pronunciation of nauseas, it’s naw-shus not nor-zee-us 😊)
