Critic Reviews

"Reads like a classic thriller, with an everyman hero alone and in danger in a hostile foreign city...but it’s all true, and it’s a story that needs to be told." (Lee Child)

Super intriguing story

Such an amazing story. I have no words to describe the selfishness of the corruption in Russia.

A Story Of Courage That Needs To Be Told

If someone had told me that a book about high finance, the stock market and the Russian economy was going to be interesting, I would have yawned and looked the other way. But I didn't - and I'm very glad I didn't! This is an incredible true story, one which vividly exposes the corruption and violence of modern day Russia, and specifically concentrates on the murder by the Russian authorities of an innocent lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky. The author, Bill Browder, a close friend of Magnitsky, carries the reader from his earliest days as an up-and-coming businessman to his transformation as a human rights activist, for which the murder of his friend was the catalyst. The courage and bravery of Browder, Magnitsky and the others who worked to expose the corruption is evident, particularly in their stance against the tyrannical Russian President, Vladimir Putin. It's a story that needs to be told and it continues to this day.

Couldn't Stop Listening

Absolutely amazing story. Although it is all well documented fact, it reads and plays like fiction novel. Well worth the download.

Red Notice - essential reading for everyone

Extraordinary true story of corruption, politics and the Russian psyche,
All the more horrifying as it describes events that are so recent.
So sad to see an amazing country robbed and manipulated by so many villains and the corruption going all the way from the police and prison officials to the tax office and all the way to the top.

Ttorey line

The story seemed to flip about halfway in to being all about his mate, which is fine as he is ultimately fighting for justice. Just not the direction I thought we were going.

Compelling story about the Magnitsky Act

And about how much of a bastard Putin is. Great tale about one individual’s interactions with modern Russia & the devastating fallout after crossing the wrong people.
