This is the best in the Shetland series IMO. Ann Cleeves is at the top of her game, spinning a great mystery in a wonderful setting, while also fleshing out the characters of Sandy and Perez. The peripheral, historical detail about the Shetland Bus is interesting too.

Too many procedurals get side-tracked with the trauma of the investigating detective but this story is perfectly pitched.
