Publisher's Summary

Jean-Luc Cavalier has only ever cared about three things: sex, booze, and the dangerous missions he undertakes with HORNET. Laissez les bons temps rouler is more than a Mardi Gras motto—it's the way he lives his life. But all that changes the night he rescues Dr. Claire Oliver from deadly mercenaries.

Now he can't get the gorgeous blond virologist out of his head.

Claire is running for her life. Someone wants her antiviral research and they're willing to kill anyone and everyone to get it. She has no one to turn to except a womanizing Cajun with a silver tongue and devastating smile.

But when an ultra-deadly virus decimates the Niger Delta, saving Claire and her research becomes the least of HORNET's concerns. The virus has all the markings of a bioweapon and Nigeria is only the testing grounds . . .

Contains mature themes.

a big chang up for JL

What a  pickle our H got. Himself into. For the first time, the ragtag group that was described in book 1 comes to the fruition.  For the first time, I listened as the team splintered. The sorrow from the previous book is still lingering with  one of the alphas, and the H goes rogue.
The team is no longer a unit in the first half of the book, but eventually, the frayed remnants of HORNET come together. Unrest still threatens their cohesive team, and that's only a tiny piece of worry. Then, I had to come to terms with a sinister world order and how to hang on to my seat as bioweapons create a different approach for the gang.
There is so much threat from all sides
I felt this plotline was slower for me. The suspense and angst were still there, but missions and past characters were few and far between. Although a castle was pretty awesome  and  great countries to soak in with Tonya's writing.
Jean Luc has been wild and funny and sexy crazy in all the books, but a slip of a woman, who is a very clever h, manages to bring the big man to his knees.
It took some time for his team to be  convinced  as they always seemed to be innocently sabotaging him.
I can't really fault the h. She had a lot of sassy moves, was smart and strong.
It may have been a tad slower paced, but the intrigue and romance and heat were still there.
Thus was a different story, which was totally out of character  for JL    I never thought this plotline would head in the direction it dis. But it worked
Thanks again, Tonya and Stephen. Great book, great narration
