Unfortunately, Reckless didn’t quite meet my expectations, after really enjoying book two. I understand going into a short book that things will inevitably move quickly, but for me, Jade and Maverick’s relationship felt rushed and underdeveloped. I would have loved a little bit more of a slow burn, a little bit more tension and a little bit more romance outside of the bedroom.

I also wasn’t a massive fan of Maverick’s character. I felt we got to know him more in the previous books than the one actually centred on his character! He should have been honest with Jade from the beginning and I couldn't quite believe that his feelings did a 180 from just one quick conversation with his sister. Once again, it was just unrealistic. Finally, someone needed to do more grovelling... Jade forgave him too easily.

Overall, if you’re like me and feel the need to complete book series, Reckless is a short read/listen.

The writing was so bad and kept missing details which would have made the story make sense. Things weren’t explained properly and it left too many unanswered questions I didn’t feel a connection to the characters at all.
