So ends my interest in L.M Kerr

The first book got me hooked, interesting setting, plot, and story. Not great writing (a good 1/3 of each books is exposition), but the rest made up for it and kept me interested.

Book 2 highlighted the poor writing and stagnant development of the story, but I still gave Kerr the benefit of the doubt , so I bought this 3rd book as well. But boy was that a mistake.

The writing quality is actually better than book 2, but there's just no story or character development beyond "Michael gets stronger and beats up new group, which makes Michael stronger so he beats new group, ad infinitum". He meets the love of his life again, but its so contrived and unnatural, I blinked and she's in love with the stranger she just met, I blink again and he's moved on and back at powering up.

Seriously love this series

I could not wait for the Re-Release of this book. I have my brother and brother in law hooked on this series, so it is always fun to talk about it with them. I enjoyed the additions that were made and think Adams Stubbs does a great job with the narration of this series! The entire concept of this series is fascinating and the author does a great job keeping me engaged and building the second level!

90% less explanation needed

I really like this series. I wish it had an abridged version that cut out all of the exacerbating explanation about his experimentations, it really takes you out of the storyline. The book would be about 10 hours without all of the excess fluff and generally more engaging. Show me, don't tell me.

With this said, it was worth a credit. I would recommend the series, the first two books were great. This one was ok.

Uhh... What's new?

I like the story and have been waiting for Book 4 but he takes over a year for a re-release of Book 3 and honestly I can't tell the difference. All the main points are there and Im pretty sure nothings new.
Even left him hitting the baby.

Good Book

Great world building and character development, with a narrator that actually puts feeling in the dialog. Only negative I found was that the writer spends too much time explaining just how strong someone is suppose to be and how a regular fight between adversaries of equivalent values tends to play out, right before MC uses time-traveler cheat knowledge to B*slap his way to victory. Great book but needs to work on that point in the future.

This version is more refined

love the development and how the story is going. The main character is progressing sufficiently and I can't wait for his friends to join him as they (rob) acquire inheritances and loot. I know it would be impossible to save everyone, but I enjoy seeing him try to do his best. and I like how he's realized he needs help and has provided info to people that might be able to provide that help to the rest of humanity..

So good!

After waiting patiently for this re-release, I am gobsmacked at the changes. The pacing is much better and the story flows more evenly. Definitely worth checking out if you've read the first version and a must read if you haven't!

Well worth the wait!

The epicness continues, the MC continuously gets stronger in a complex and interesting world. Many twists and turns happen which blows my mind.

I loved the book and will reslisten to the whole series multiple times.

Great but a bit overly combat heavy

While the core narrative is great, the amount of combat is just a bit much for me.

it was okay, found myself falling off

The MC needs people to bounce off otherwise it gets quite boring.

The endless descriptions are torture at times, I dont want to listen for 30 minutes about why it's difficult to buy vodka and pour into a rock with your soul whilst keeping it activated.

At least the time flashbacks have lessened in this from the last one which is nice.

I like how the MCs hardest conflicts are internal ones rather than fights (but can also get hard) it really allows you to empathise with them, finding yourself lost if you were in their situation.

Last bit of input, authors please stop ✋ explaining every aspect to fights like they're an anime I notice a lot of English wriiten authors do this. In moderation for the love of litrpg, every fights pace is disgustingly slow because of this

A good follow up, but nothing special.

It's a... typical story of its genre with a perpetuation for wordy repeating sentences driven to solely increase the chapters word count. It's almost as if scenes must contain a specific word count for the author to be happy with it. It's extremely annoying.

The world lore is interesting, however, and the premise is also very engaging. The underline story is there and does pull you in, but combat does the inverse to throw you back out.

What more can I say. It's a continuation of the previous. Good, not great. Better than meh.

Too dam short but brilliant! XD

**Spoiler comment**

I was so happy with this book, seeing the scales tip away from the Vile King as Michael stops his plans. Prime and the Nirvana Saint becoming aware of him and starting to oppose him. I literally shouted Yes! I wish it were longer as it felt so short even though so much happened, but it must be hard to find a good stopping point, I can see why from layer 3 it will be one book per layer. Absolutely stoked for the next book which I anticipate will be as long as book 2 :D

Not bad but what a boring end

Story is not bad, but not a lot happens! Not a lot of story progress or character development. Quite sad for a book that releases once a year.

Too much explaining and repeating what or why the MC does things. Boring ending with a “cliffhanger” and 40 min of POV changes of thing I am not interested in.

Feels like the author wants to drag out everything! Sad!

not worth buying if you read in original release

if you read the original : there is nothing notably different about this release compared tp the last one. no new information and feels more like information was cut out and unneeded explanation was put it.

if you listened to past books : won't disappoint you, great story, great progression, loads of good ideas and build up litterally only gripe is one unique cultivation method seeming a bit contrived and came out of nowhere.
