Publisher's Summary

What if the rise of secularism is good news for the church?

For decades, we set our hopes on technology, politics, and the appearance of peace. We wanted to believe we were headed somewhere better - that progress was happening. But now, as our technology ensnares and isolates us, our politics threaten to tear us apart and our cultural decline continues to accelerate, people are understandably distressed.

But throughout history, these periods of decline traditionally precede powerful spiritual renewal - and even revival. What if all the bad news in this world is actually good news for the church?

Discover why there's reason to be wildly hopeful and how to prepare yourself and your church to be a part of renewal now and in the future.

Better ways to change make our doable goal to be more like Jesus

I had to slow down, review and digest each building block to form a better foundation and then a pathway and bridge using suggested methods and steps discovered along the way to make a series of changes for a changed life more like Jesus. This book structure and framework keeps us from wandering too much but still keeping a clear path while noodling exercise for our hearts and minds. ♥️ 🔥 ♥️ ⚡️

So true and prophetic

I love the message of Mark Sayers. He is bringing clarity and hope into a completely post-christian world. I found him via the “this cultural moment” podcast and it gives me tremendous hope.

if we want revival, we must seek revival desperate

this is a good group study for people desperate for God's presence to renew us and awaken us to his greatness.

Insightful analysis of contemporary culture

Sayers combines a thorough analysis of history and the characteristics of past awakenings with a piercing analysis of the dominant cultures in the West. Well worth it for anyone committed to seeing the church reappear as a meaningful force in our society.

Interesting premise, boring book :-(

I was excited to read this book as it seemed to be along the lines of what I’ve been thinking about Church and what’s happening within it. Unfortunately, the content is so dry and ‘intellectual’ that you need to already know what he’s talking about to follow it... no context to hang the detail on or to help understanding and we just ended up giving up and returning the book for a credit. Disappointing.
