Publisher's Summary

Rule Breaker. Troublemaker. Heart Taker.

Needs him like oxygen.

Dany has so many secrets. He’s not on the island by accident, he’s not a nice guy, and he’s using a fake name. He's laying low, but he must have been born under a bad sign, because the very man he’s hiding from walks back into his life.

A new life in a new town seemed like the right decision for Soren. Discovering Dany living on Piedras brings back all the feelings he's tried to forget.

Too bad Dany is just as compelling as he ever was.

Two men from opposite sides of the law: Can they set aside their differences and trust their hearts?

Real Trouble is set in the Veiled Intentions world. Soren and Dany first appear in the Shielded Hearts series (When It Rains). Real Trouble can be listened to as a stand-alone, is dual-POV following our heroes as they fight their way to their HEA, and is the first in the new West Coast Forensics series.

Gripping!

So much chemistry, passion and suspense in one story, I couldn’t put it down.

I love Elle’s style of writing, interweaving hints throughout the story only to drop a bucket of paint to you in shock as the real ‘baddie’ is revealed! I thought I’d guess it multiple times but alas I was surprised at the final turn of advents.

A truely thrilling and suspenseful story with flaming chemistry between two bold characters. I know Elle’s series have interconnected links and I really want to go back and find where Soren and Dany cameo as I want more of their background! This is a great seemingly second chance romance with danger, passion and talking 😜 Such a great read!

Satisfying mystery, second chances romance

Danylo Peters has come to Piedras Island to live down his infamous crime family name of Petyr. He’s found work as a chef and made friends. He doesn’t count on bumping into the new deputy sheriff and still-angry ex-boyfriend Soren Jorgensen. Soren feels let down by Dany and he knows he’s trouble, so why can’t he keep away? I recently finished the wonderful Veiled Intentions series also set on Piedras Island and had high hope for this spin off series. Whereas the Veiled Intentions series follows one couple and a bunch of more complex mysteries over three books, the West Coast Forensics series focuses on a different couple in each book. I enjoyed it but didn’t find it quite as satisfying. This is a second chances story and there was smoking chemistry but the rekindling was instantaneous so I felt like I was missing some crucial backstory cues about Dany and Soren’s previous time together and what attracted them to each other. The mystery was more satisfying and built in suspense over the book - I’m hoping there’ll be more to this plot line and it will carry on through this series. I’m not a huge fan of schmaltz and there was more than I enjoy, but others will like it. Michael Dean’s audio narration is a real draw card for me, I love his work!
