About this listen

How can one man be so incredibly frustrating but so sexy at the same time?

Ryder knows two things. Tragedy can strike at any moment so you have to hold tightly to the gifts life gives you. And Shay is one of those gifts. To Ryder their 15-year age difference is nothing, Shay is the man he wants. Now he just needs an opportunity to plead his case with the sexy lawyer.

He gets his chance when Shay asks him to assist on a case involving a missing person, but the investigation quickly turns perilous. A stomach-churning roller-coaster ride of what the hell is going on, puts both men in danger - but from whom?

Will the two get their chance at love, or will a brutal criminal tear the future from their grasp?

Real Danger, second in the West Coast Forensics series, is a dual POV, age-gap, m/m romantic suspense following Shay and Ryder as they fight for their HEA.

The ongoing series in the Elle-verse set in the upper north west has really hit its stride with this one. The maturity of the storytelling and the confidence of the world building is great. Shay, who we know from the previous Piedras books is finally in a situation where he can't ignore Ryder any longer. The sub-plot of helping to find out what happened to a missing girl is creates the catalyst for their story to unfold. Ryder is a great character and no doubt will surface more in future stories as he works for WCF. Shay needed to settle down, and this finally grounds him just as he needs. As always, this story is visited by many characters from previous stories, hence the Elle-verse comment above.
Michael Dean, as always, give a fine performance.

West Coast Forensics investigator Ryder Mann doesn’t mind working on Piedras Island because it gives him an excuse to spend time with lawyer Shay Delacombe. Unfortunately for Ryder, Shay sees their 20-yr age gap as a BIG deal but Ryder is sure he can wear him down. He gets his chance when the two work together to track down a missing woman and find themselves in real danger. I was so looking forward to Shay’s story and I was absolutely delighted with it. There is a lovely contrast between Ryder as the eager puppy and Shay as the old dog who is reluctant to learn any new tricks. The investigation and the relationship both started as slow burns but each built up a satisfying head of steam by the end. I love audio narrator Michael Dean, he really channels emotions and action well, and when he uses his DEEP voice … perfection!

Love Piedras, loved this age-gap romance!
