when I started it it sounded so like erotica I thought to myself, I'm not gonna get through this as I prefer MC novels with awesome storylines.
but I persisted and BOY I'm glad I did.
I look back now and see the first half of the book as not a build up to erotica but setting the scene for the story. in my opinion it's an INTENSE character build, showing the reader/listener the overwhelming emtions/ feelings/desires these 2 have. because it's mainly 1 POV you don't get to know the heroes side of intense but I believe Ms Evan's portrayed this so as not to expose the deep twist that is Remy.
but now, knowing that, for me, the plot and the palpable emotions written by Ms Evan's falls squarely into place. I'm trying to put forth my opinion without spoilers here!!
I almost choked the heroine for her stupid moves but in saying that she is young and inexperienced (in regards to the twist) so I feel that it had to happen to make it REAL.
it's my first read of this author and my first knee jerk reaction was to say, nope not book 2 but now the scene is set I believe there may be a bit more Involved now.
the narrator...is the only reason it's 4 stars...she's got a pleasant tone but her inflections are virtually nil and makes sone thouhhts and speaking, hsrd to distinguish. it would have been better to have a male voice for the male characters or a female than can utilise her tone to that advantage.
so in saying that if you can move through the intense writing for the first part of the book and hold out, you'll find the depth and reason for it.
