Publisher's Summary

The eccentric millionaire Robert “Bobby” Ayers has disappeared again, this time alone on his 60-foot luxury sailboat. Behind him he leaves the wreckage of a controversial life - three ex-wives, angry creditors, and the shadow of a murder in his past. He travels the endless expanse of the Pacific cloaked in stealth, only to meet his future there in the form of a young woman more mysterious than he is. Left behind is his only daughter, Laura, who must fulfill the commands of his living trust in a journey that leads her ever deeper into a fractured world of family, revelation, and personal destiny.

Another Christian Williams must read.

A most eloquent sea tale, laced with just enough romance. Clearly Christians love for beautiful yachts and beautiful women shines through. Accurate details on all subjects in the novel make it very believable. Characters are both diverse and interesting.
Well done Christian! Please keep writing, I look forward to your next adventure.

Outstanding novel!

One of my favorite parts of this audio novel was the way the author, Christian Williams, reads each passage to you. His voice is soothing, steady, and cares about how his words carry.

Good Story, Great Narration!

I've listened to all the author's books and I find them all to be very well done. And while good, this novel might be my least favorite of his works. The story is okay and the characters are interesting but I felt a bit let down at the end. Lots of nautical terms thrown about, so if you're not a sailor you might find it a little less interesting or confusing. Plot complaints aside, what I absolutely love about Mr. Williams is his voice and cadence. It. Is. Wonderful. I'd pay good money to listen to him read a phone book!

Some weird juxtaposition, then it makes sense

I'm a non-fiction type, but there was just enough to the story to make this seem like it could be real. There really wasn't any part where disbelief took over. I enjoyed the story and narration; my wife who was trapped in my truck with me for 12-hours and loves historical-fiction / fictional novels, did not.

A Great Story

I absolutely loved this story. The character development was superb and very relatable. Mr. Williams does an excellent job of introducing, explaining and creating an emotional connection between the characters and the reader. His intonation is perfect for the story and he does a great job with his narration. I highly recommend this book if you have an interest in sailing but if you don't, the story will still keep your attention. I loved how he painted the scene with the Jazz Greats!

Bad narration of a lukewarm story

I need to learn that books narrated by the author are usually not very good. This one is no different— the stuttering, stop and go narration causes me to find something else to listen too.

A wonderful novel, at sea and on land

I thoroughly enjoyed this well written and fast paced novel. I read it as a sailor, but it is very accessible to non-sailors. The characters are well drawn and the structure is excellent, so the action unfolds in a mysterious and exciting way. Highly recommended

Put aside

I am not happy about giving such a low score for this book - Having read Christian's account of his travels by boat which were great I was hanging out for it since its publishing date was announced on youtube. I am afraid the tale entirely failed to get me engaged and the presentation, so eminently suitable for the previous books talking about his sailing adventures is unsuitable for a novel.
