En historisk roman med rötter i de isländska sagorna. Gunnar Ernst Algot Sandgren (1929-2016) var en svensk journalist och författare. Under sin livstid skrev han ett tjugotal böcker, de allra flesta historiska romaner. Sandgren arbetade även för SVT och skrev ett tjugotal teaterpjäser.
