But when they end up in Los Angeles, Dad promises this will be the last time they move. The Pacific Crest Apartments are home now...which means it's time for Jake to finally make friends. Publisher's Summary
Steve lives on a wheat farm. He has everything he needs to live in the Minecraft world: a bed, a house, and food. Steve likes to spend his mornings in the NCP village and trade his wheat for emeralds, armor, books, swords, and food. One morning, he finds that Zombies have attacked the villagers. The Zombies have also turned the village blacksmith into a Zombie, leaving Steve without a place to get swords. To protect himself and the few villagers that remain, Steve goes on a quest to mine for 40 diamonds, which are the most powerful mineral in the Overworld. He wants to craft these diamonds into a diamond sword to shield him and the villagers from the Zombies.
Far from his home, with night about to set in, Steve fears for his life. Nighttime is when users are most vulnerable in Minecraft. As he looks for shelter in a temple, he meets a trio of treasure hunters, Max, Lucy, and Henry, who are trying to unearth the treasure under the temple. Steve tells them of his master plan to mine for the most powerful mineral in the Overworld - the diamond. The treasure hunters are eager to join him. Facing treacherous mining conditions, a thunderstorm, and attacks from hostile mobs, these four friends question if it's better to be a single player than a multiplayer, as they try to watch out for each other and chase Steve's dream at the same time. Will Steve find the diamonds? Will his friends help or hinder the search? Should he trust his new treasure hunter friends? And will Steve get back in time to save the villagers?

In this story facts about Minecraft are totally fake and wrong. For Example 40 diamonds to make a sword? Making a gold sword from iron ingot dropped from zombie pig man? The author has clearly never ever played Minecraft. Waste of time. But loved voice actor❤️

My children loved it!
What did you like best about Quest for the Diamond Sword? What did you like least?
This book was obviously written for children who love Minecraft. I have two boys who have now listened to it 5 times in the first two weeks we have owned it. However, the story is below average. I would have never finished it if my family wasn't on a road trip listening to books together. Parents are not going to love this book, but they won't hate it ether. It is a good book to listen to as a family.
Would you ever listen to anything by Winter Morgan again?
We have already purchased the second book in the series.
What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?
I love listening to Luke. When picking a Minecraft book for my kids I chose this one specifically because he was the reader. Like all of his work each character has a distinct voice. His performance provided life into an otherwise average book.
Do you think Quest for the Diamond Sword needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Need one? No. But there is one. My kids have listened to it twice in the past 36 hours we have owned it.

Not great lit, but ok for car ride w kids
There is nothing remarkable about this short novel except that it kept my Minecraft-obsessed nieces (8 and 12 years old) interested throughout a long car ride. We did have to stop the book frequently so that they could explain what was going on ("see, the green slimy monsters live in such-and-such, and only the whatchamajiggy can kill them"). Adults with any video game or role-playing game experience will easily understand what is going on. Kids might find this boring unless they have played Minecraft. Listen to it at 1.25 speed if you want it to end more quickly.

Feels like it never even got a rough edit
As a fellow writer I understand how difficult it is to write a book. But just im the first three chapters it conpletely falls apart. Many, many things that make zero sense. Huge inconsistencyies and logical issue within the writing. Like how the main characters some how loses multiple swords and all his armor the first time he enters combat. He then some how just enters the nether and then too a desert. It makes absolutely no logical sense.
It just honestly felt as if it had not even gone through a rough edit. The are hundreads of things that dont make any sense. It honestly felt like my first attempt to write some thing but much worse.
It seemed as if they just wrote this in about 3 weeks and then just formstted and immidetly published it.
Luke daniels is a awesome narrator but sadly couldn’t save this. However the problem with minecraft novels in general tends to be that they age very badly. This book has not aged well and that they should have expanded the minecraft world instead. They should have greatly expanded the universe instead.
Personally if I were to write a novel like this, I would put in the time it took. I would have planned it all out. I would have wrote a 10 or 11 hour book over multiple months. I would have also done multiple edits and build a highly sofisticated world. I know its for kids, but it would be more worth while to make some thing of substance.
I understand the head ache of it all, but it just dosent work. I will now make a 100x more interesting consept and plot on the spot.
Joe the rich farm owner lived in New steve city. He was currently supporting the large army of soliders against the hordes of monsters. Grahiu the current illager king of the world and his evil army of illager mages and evokers is invading the entire overworld. But unfortuantly after the world was converted to minecraft some how. Unfortunately for Joe he loses everything and barely escapes. He then must save the world by finding a powerful and ancient magical artifact. It wouls give him the power to defeat the illager army. But Joe finds that the artifact was destroyed a long time ago. He then realizes he never needed if the artifact. He learns that the new world thrust apon every one has also divided them. He then finally saved the world from the brink of destructoin by uniting and freeing the rest of the enslaved people. He them finally confronts the illager king. Joe then captures him and finds a way to travel across the rest of the worldsand save the rest of human kind.
This would be much better and even the consept is supior to this books entite plot. It took me less than 2minutes to think of that, and even if it was written as poorly as in this book, it would still be better. This is just a poorly made cash grab.
Sadly Winter Morgan did not take the time to research, design and plan, properly edit and think about the idea of this book. I hope that if they make any more book, they would at least take the time to make the book good.
