Publisher's Summary
An original investing strategy based on 10 quantitative rules.
A good number of investment books are based on technical rules or chart patterns. Some books offer fundamental analysis, but too often, most are unable to offer anything substantial or tangible.
In this title, seasoned investor JB Marwood reveals the precise rules to an investing strategy that combines the best of two well-known investment concepts, that of value investing and momentum.
This combination of value and momentum has been called by some the "holy grail" of investing and, judging by the results shown in this book, there might be some truth to that statement. By quantifying financial ratios such as the PE ratio, price-to-sale ratio, current ratio, EPS growth, and more, Marwood builds a turnkey investing system that is simple, precise, and practical.
Whether you're an experienced stock market investor or you're looking to buy stocks for the very first time, this book will show you a hassle-free way to find deep value investments using just 10 simple financial rules.
These rules are not simply plucked out of thin air. They are grounded in the principles of successful value investing and historical performance. They take their cues from academic research and align with the viewpoints of many successful value investors such as Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham, Peter Lynch, and others.
And using the latest analytical software (also used by the likes of Bank of America and Stanford Business school) this strategy is tested, fine-tuned, and stress-tested against 15 years of stock market data. The results are recorded on paper and reveal an impressive outperformance against the benchmark S&P 500 Index with lower volatility and lower drawdown to boot.

A Good Fundamental Stock Analysis Investing System
Goes through 10 good fundamental rules (ratios) for selection of a stock portfolio. I liked the rules and methodology. Hey, it's NOT a get rich quick scheme. It's a disciplined approach which I like. Some of the supplemental material got into some investment instruments (including shorting and futures) that are probably not appropriate for most individual, retail investors as they can be like playing with fire or a loaded gun.
Did make reference to Sharpe ratio a few times without explaining. It's a measure of risk-adjusted return. Should have included a bit of discussion since it was referenced more than once.
I found the narration a bit too spritely for my taste for this subject. Hey, it's just my perspective that I would have appreciated a dare I say a more stoic tone in this work.
I was provided a free copy of this book in return for an unbiased review.

A good introduction to investing
What made the experience of listening to Quantitative Value Investing the most enjoyable?
The narration was good and the techniques were for the most part easy to understand and grasp. I was able to gain much from this reading.
Have you listened to any of Becky White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but she did a great job on this one.
Any additional comments?
"I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom."

Too basic and elementary, narrowly focused on software
Very, very elementary principles for the totally uninformed beginner. It was disappointing in that it spends 2 chapters talking about setting up software, and then through most of the book it goes into the software the author wants us to use. There are perhaps 15 minutes of useful info, and even that is very basic value investing strategy that just about everyone already knows.

Practical and easy to follow
I don't have much knowledge about trading and investments and found this audiobook very practical. It provides a list of rules for selecting individual stocks and describes an approach to creating and maintaining a reasonably sized portfolio of stocks. It also demonstrates how a portfolio constructed by the proposed rules would perform in a historical perspective. I found the book easy to follow even without looking into accompanying materials, although the listener would benefit from doing so. I have received this book free at my request and left this review voluntarily.

Sales promo for "Portfolio123" system, Badly read
Poor intonation, difficult to tune in to.
Very poor explanations.
Almost entirely a sales promotional tool for "portfolio123"
Don't buy
Recommend "The naked Trader" by Robbie Burns instead - very much better all round!
